Graham guaranteed a sub 4.3, but ran a 4.38 first and then the 4.35 on a second attempt.

Supposedly the way they score runners now makes them a hair shorter.

No, they aren't announcing those times, which are measured electronically from start to finish.

These times are the same as they've been measured in years past.

^^ I wonder how much that time difference has to do with running form. They have much different form, and I assume RGIII's is better.

Also, Russell had the second best QB 40 time at 4.55 seconds.

[Edited on February 26, 2012 at 5:01 PM. Reason : ^^^^ Graham's official time is listed at 4.41 now]

yeah i wonder if Cam could move his legs faster if he wanted, but if he thought longer strides would be faster

Difference is, Cam runs over motherfuckers. Griffin has to run around them.

^Good call. It's nice to have your QB be your short yardage/goal line back. I don't think RG3 will be able to do that. Maybe he can bulk up some under an NFL trainer.

he could be like Vick...run threat, decent seasons, but never plays a full 16

(Cam didn't miss a snap last year)

Isn't Griffin a bit thicker tho? IIRC, Vick was maybe 190 coming out of VT.

I certainly think he could be a starter in the NFL, but Cam having such a great season isn't going to help temper expectations for RG3. Whatever team gets him will have a fanbase who will be praying that he has the impact Cam did, and will end up deluding themselves into expecting it.

Which is why the Cleveland fit is perfect.

LOL, I was thinking that Eisen hit a decent little stride there at about the 3/4 mark, then RGIII et al blow by him

Please don't compare griffin to vick. Griffin can actually throw the ball.

Redskins reach a deal for the Rams 2nd overall pick.

Rams get the Redskins 3 1st rd picks over the next 3 years, and this years 2nd rd pick.

RGIII better live up the hype.

RG3 never ran for more than 600 yards at 4 ypc in his 3 seasons. He may be fast as shit, but he's not a Vick type runner.

Daniel Snyder is a complete moron.

Rams made out big time in that trade.

Maybe they will trade their entire defense and 2 future 2nd round picks to the Rams to get Brandon Lloyd back.

Supposedly the Browns were close to offering 3 first rounders (probably two this year and one next year) but wouldn't give up a 2nd rounder

I love RGIII and everything, but I'm not terribly upset that Cleveland didn't make that trade.

I wonder when Daniel Snyder will realize he has no clue what he is doing.

I picture him old an senile like Al Davis in his later years, still thinking every decision he makes is the right one, and everyone else are just a bunch of morons.

But, to give Al Davis credit, he was good in his younger years.

I don't think its a bad deal for the redskins if rg3 is as good as advertised.

It's impossible to trade for a qb and there are no good ones ever available in free agency (peyton being a fluke, and even then he's a huge risk).

You lock down a starting qb for $6 million instead of the $28 million brees will be making. That gives you a $22 million per year leg up on other teams to sign a wr, ol, and defensive free agents of which there will be several good ones available.

The qb position is the nfl in this era. Make or break, you can have the best all around team in football like the 49ers did but still lose bc Alex smith only completed one pass to a wide receiver in the nfc championship

This was apparently a Allen/Shanahan decision...not a Synder one.

With the cap space the skins have...the Redskins could still sign Manning and a WR like V-Jax

If I was 35 with 3 prior neck surgeries looking at a disfunctional team with no WRs and no oline, I would also say no.

Well they did say it was a long shot. The whole not wanting to play in the same division as his brother.

V-Jax would be nice though.

"19. Chicago Bears: Quinton Coples, DE, North Carolina
Quinton Coples can easily fall on Draft Day. He's very talented, but there are questions about his work ethic and motor. When asked to evaluate his own effort as a senior in an interview with Charley Casserly, Coples gave himself a C, admitting that he didn't give 100 percent in 2011. I find that very troubling. What's he going to do once he receives a signing bonus?

The Bears may believe he's way too good to pass up, however. They need a pass-rusher across from Julius Peppers, who also happens to be a talented defensive end out of North Carolina. The front office may believe that Peppers could be a great tutor for Coples. "

about 42hours till the draft begins

what we know so far:

Luck and RG3 will go 1 & 2.
the Saints forfeit their 2nd rd draft pick
Mel Kiper will be completely wrong as usual and try to justify his ineptitude throughout the telecast

Kiper will be wrong

just like McShay

- supposedly teams are forbidden this year from tweeting/facebooking who they're going to draft
- supposedly ESPN isn't going to show players in the green room on their cellphones, another attempt to keep the picks a surprise

First trade of the night. Cleveland moves up 1 spot to grab Richardson and not risk Tampa getting in front of them.

Jay Glazer ? @JayGlazer
I'm hearing we have our first trade; Cleveland moving up from #4 to #3 w Minnesota. Giving up 3 picks to move into the 3rd spot

Cleveland was one RB away from being a Super Bowl contender they just HAD to have one.

It's no wonder some of the same organizations seem to suck every year.
