Nice pick by gsw. Stupid though they could have taken him at #30,so they have him locked up for four years instead of 2.
But green in the 2nd almost makes up for drafting Barnes and a foreigner. Almost 6/28/2012 10:52:46 PM |

So Austin Rivers is basically Mario Chalmers but without the athleticism, the dribble drive penetration and the passing. Am I right? 6/29/2012 1:24:41 PM |

chalmers played 3 years at KU and is now 28, rivers is 19. when chalmers entered the draft he was already much further into his development, and even then probably was not much better at penetrating or at passing. rivers is going to be a poor mans kyrie irving. 6/29/2012 1:49:27 PM |

Rivers as a freshman: 43.3% FG, 36.5% 3FG, 3.4 RPG, 2.1 APG, 2.3 TOG Chalmers as freshman: 44.5% FG, 37.5% 3FG, 2.2 RPG, 3.8 APG, 2.7 TPG
Basically the same player. One grew into his game and became productive. One will never, ever do that?

It's nights like this, where you stop and look at the Knicks' roster and remember that their biggest draft day story was their star player tweeting a gay slur to someone, then you think about their options over the next few years and how much money they've already spent and how little they can possibly do and just how relentlessly mediocre everything is .... These are the nights when you realize the Knicks are the most depressing team in the NBA. GRADE: F" |

Yeah, but Rivers is a chode who thinks he's the 2nd coming. I think that will ultimately hinder his progress.
