it's not "old" when you consider the charges were just 4 months ago. i'm guessing he finally had his day in court and it didn't go as well as he had hoped, resulting in his suspension.

regardless, that tells me that his drug case has been postponed and his court date is June 2013. i'm guessing that just happened, and with a pending drug case NCSU/TOB decided they didn't want him on the active roster.

you think double jeopardy applies to suspensions in college football?

they probably decided they didn't want a starter with a pending drug charge, that's all i'm saying. there's a reason it hasn't been discussed. and if by "speculating" you mean throwing out possible reasons why the kid got suspended, then sure i'm speculating.

i have never searched for anything regarding his charges, but i find it hard to believe that they delayed his case/hearing/trial (whatever) for over a year. he went to court in May 2012 and got it postponed 13 months? really? if that's old news, i'd love to know where you read about it back in May.

my guess is he got the case postponed/continued for 3 months back in May. he served his suspension, then he practiced with the team, and got to play a few games. then whatever was supposed to happen in court this month got pushed back again, until Jun 2013. at that point, TOB decided he didn't want Greene starting for him all year with a pending drug charge.
