I want this whole series to end with the realization that Ted never meets the mother. It's just a hallucination Ted has as he dies via suicide. Something akin to the last episode of Rosanne where you find out that they didn't win the lottery and Dan died instead.

I liked the episode other than the bit with going to the mother's place. It was completely out of place because that version of Ted knew nothing about her. Cut out that garbage, and it was a decent episode.

It only makes sense if you've bought into the time travel motif. He said if he could go back in time to that moment, that's what he would do. So you have to look at that Ted who gets punched in the face as a future Ted who went back to that moment.

Still not the best concept, but it fits.

I think a lot of people are just invested in it that they figure "what the hell, I'll watch it." and since there's only one season left, you might as well tune in to see how it all ends. It really could have been done in about 3 seasons though.

I did enjoy the laser tag. But, damn, that Robin and Ted thing was unnecessary.

Her questioning her and Barney's relationship is one thing but extending that to a Robin and Ted is too much.

Also, I thought we were supposed to end this season with the wedding and get introduced to the mother. The wiki description does not make it sound that way at all.

Why are the episodes suddenly going back down in quality...
The season started bad, started getting good, then dropped like a rock again. Then these bad episodes always inexplicably brings back up the Ted-Robin connection.

My bet is that there are different groups writing / directing episodes. Its like one group tries to pull the show back to its roots while the other haphazardly charges towards a plot point as fast as possible yet making sure that we are constantly reminded that Ted still holds a candle for Robin all the while being a whiny prick.
