I'm pretty surprised by how big a Linsanity bubble NYC media can make. Now the bubble blows out.

Really nice to see Kirilenko back terrorizing the league again. Amazing that he's still playing at such a high level at his age.

TWolves have got to be nervous about Brandon Roy though. He looks even worse than he did two years ago and they don't really have another option at SG until Rubio comes back and they can slide Ridnour over some. Perhaps, Budinger can play a little there...

Not sure why they didn't just go the safe route and grab someone like Brewer instead

OKC falls to 1-2 on the heels of another "Westbrook being Westbrook" performance. The guy just doesn't have it, this is already his 2nd game of the season shooting below 30% FG (5-18, yikes!).

The Thunder's fade from relevance is just sad, I feel like they were the adopted team of so many casual NBA observers.

Imagine how awesome they'd be if they'd made a savvy move instead like trading Westbrook for a stone cold killer like Kyle Lowry. That dude is just sick.

The pressure is really going to build on RW, now that he doesn't have James Harden to rely on. I expect things to come to a head sometime this season as the losses mount and the media starts blaming Westbrook.

"savvy move instead like trading Westbrook for a stone cold killer like Kyle Lowry"

.... does the wolf web have an "ignore user" feature similar to pack pride? This guy simply doesn't stop.

He's right.

Lowry Harden Durant is much sicker than Westbrook and Durant.

^^ I never stop? I got trolled non stop last year for pointing out lowry is better than westbrook. People have a really hard time saying I was right.

In a few months people will change their argument and say "I'm just saying westbrook doesn't suck" when in reality they were claiming he was the best pg in the league or close to it.

We've been through this with Amare stoudamire, carmelo, derrick rose, and countless others.

People are so wrapped up in whatever ESPN force feeds them, that they will ignore facts and logic until a 30 lb nutsac hits them in the jaw.

Do you really want to make the argument that Russell westbrook is better than Kyle lowry???

Westbrook: 21.3 ppg, 6.0 reb, 6.7 ast, 0.00 stl, 0.00 blk, 3.3 to, 38% FG, 18% 3's, 78% ft

Lowry: 23.7 ppg, 7.3 reb, 7.0 ast, 3.67 stl, 0.33 blk, 3 to, 57.5% fg, 50% 3's, 94% ft.

Do those numbers even appear close to you? Lowry has an adjusted fg% of 68% compared to westbrook 40%

Lowry is taking EIGHT less shots a game and outscoring westbrook.

Westbrook just doesn't have it. He relies on his midrange jumper which misses A LOT, he can't shoot threes, and he has a turnover problem. His athleticism makes for nice highlights, but it hasn't turned him into a special basketball player.

Yeah and there were 66 games last year. How many more games do we need, 500?

If you get a chance tonight to watch kirilenko square off vs reggie Evans make sure you do it.

You never know how many more chances you'll get to watch these guys as they're getting up there in age

Big Baby Davis and JJ Redick have emerged as one of the best one two punch in the NBA.

Redick is averaging 22points and 6 assists.
Baby is averaging 26 and 10.

The magic are undefeated with the top offense in the NBA.

For the record, I was never in favor of trading Harden. Of course, Lowry + Harden + Durant is better than Westbrook + Durant. I'd rank them:

1. Westbrook Harden Durant
2. Lowry Harden Durant
3. Westbrook Durant
4. Lowry Durant

But that's not what bothered me. Lowry is not better than Westbrook. Lowry's off to a great start... but lets wait at least a month before we start discussing this.

Comparing the individual numbers (last year's numbers):

Lowry
14-7-5 while shooting a 40-37-86. Lowry averaged 2.8 TO's last year.

Westbrook:
24-6-5 while shooting 45-32-82... Westbrook averaged 3.6 TO's last year.

So Lowry tossed out an extra assist per game, turned the ball over less, shot 5% better from 3 and 4% better from the FT line. Westbrook averaged 10 more points and shot 5% better from the field. I think the slight drop off in shooting percentage is worth the extra 10 points per game, but that's just me.

Other reasons:

1. team success (Lowry's played in the playoffs once, exiting in the 2nd round)
2. durability (Lowry has played in a full 82 game season just once, hasn't been a full time starter any of the 6 season's he's been in the league... Westbrook has yet to miss a game due to injury)
3. longevity with teams (Lowry's been on 3 teams in 6 years, Westbrook only one)
4. Accolades (to be fair, Lowry won Western conference player of the week once, Westbrook is *takes deep breath* a two time all star, two time all-nba team member, gold medalist for 2012 london and 2010 turkey AND 3rd team PAC 10)

Now, you could say "I favor Lowry over Westbrook" or "Westbrook has more turnovers than a pastry shop"... but to say Lowry is better than Westbrook doesn't hold up.

watching NBA League Pass on Roku. this Cavs/Clips game has been super entertaining. Dion Waiters is a lot better than I expected. he and Irving make a pretty sick backcourt.

I watched the first quarter of that game and it is ridiculous how good Kyrie is already. Keep in mind he can't even legally get a drink yet either.

Gametime app is incredible on Xbox 360. No lag like on the Roku last year and only about :20 behind real time which is better than the MLB app.

Anybody got a decent brief synopsis of why the hell Brown insisted on running a "Princeton offense" with that starting 5?

lol Mike Brown fired.

His coaching career will be defined as not being able to win a title with Lebron and Kobe...and being fired as failing miserably with Kobe, Dwight Howard, and Pau Gasol on your team.

I hope he saved up.

Only thing that makes sense is to pin it on Kobe for trying to make Steve Nash more of SG than a PG.

i was very, very wrong

no big deal

one of the beauties of Sport is that it provides actual surprise

the Pistons sucking cock isn't anything like the Jets upsetting the Colts in Superbowl III, but an underlying, unifying principle therein lies (or lays?)

or as they say, that's why we play the game

(note: Josh McRoberts is no stud, basketball-wise at least)

D'antoni to the lakers.

Good hire, he's no Phil but Phil may just be a little too old for a full season of travel.

This lakers squad has some similarities to the suns teams. Nash, athletic big man for the pick and roll, scoring 2 guard, no bench. I could see the lakers winning a title with d'antoni not killing them like brown was.

Kobe has played really well so far this season. He's like the anti westbrook...

^ agreed that its unexpected. It could be that he's healthier but its a small sample size so we will have to wait and see.

Twolves another huge blow. Budinger out 2 months with torn meniscus. Already missing Rubio and love. And barea and Roy aren't playing tonight either, Wtf

Dantoni style 7 seconds or less basketball is pretty 3 pt shot dependent and the Lakers are woefully short on shooters

perhaps Jodie Meeks gets his stroke his back

too bad LA didn't sign Barbosa. dude still has gas in his tank and could have flourished once again under Dantoni

what do you guys think about the Lakers benching World Peace for Ebanks? Metta is still a ball stopper who consistently makes bad decisions and he's no dominant defender. he's a drain on the starting lineup, but could possibly improve the second unit.

He had a bounce back year last year, but I agree they woulda been better off with Barnes. A shooter makes them lethal offensively.

Why does Phil Jackson retire if he wants to coach? I realize he probably likes time off...but seriously man...retire or coach!

He really isn't that old.

also, Jackson likes to coach once there's an available team with the most talent in the league

potential trade: Lakers trade Gasol to the Hornets for Ryan Anderson, Aminu, Xavier Henry, and Hakim Warrick (trying to make the salaries work)

LA gets more shooting and more athletic and New Orleans gets the most offensively skilled big in the League to pair with Anthony Davis and Eric Gordon

I wouldn't give up either Aminu or Anderson straight up for Gasol.

Gasol's play has been slipping and Aminu is killing it this year. Anderson is already proven.

Westbrook just had a great game leading the Thunder past the Pistons (leading team in points, rebounds, and assists).

Harden stunk it up against the Heat (what's new).

Scales starting to balance out.
