Yeah, they've probably known for weeks.

However, upon learning of the cancellation, their plan has likely always been to offer complete refunds, and it's better to offer said refunds while announcing a replacement headliner than to offer refunds while shrugging your shoulders.

It wouldn't surprise me if they move Local Natives over to the main stage and then fill their slot at Memorial.

Seems like it would be difficult to pull off grabbing another big act this late in the game.

of all the days to choose, why pick the one with another large, competing show a couple of hundred yards away that also appeals to many of your festival goers? (and when many have spent a lot of money on both acts.)

House party tonight on Brent Road was like a min-preview for Hopscotch. Well, not really, but it felt like it. Secret show with The Love Language, Whatever Brains, and The Lollipops. Was very fun.

Luckily for me, a year out of undergrad isn't old, especially not for Mattress Fort. Not exactly the same as a kegger/PJ party so that contributes. Even terrible bands are really fun there.

Mattress Fort does rule, though. The folks who live there are really cool and know how to keep things running smooth.
