I had a dude in a 911 Turbo (996 or 997, I can't remember) try to run me through the heart of downtown Pensacola a year or two ago when I was in my C5 Z06.

I think the speed limit is 30 (obviously you can safely go a good bit faster than that, but it gives you an idea of the type of area). I didn't even know what to make of it. Either we would go from a roll from like, 30 up to 50 mph, which would be pointless and also over in about a second and change, or we'd stay in it and be going 100 in a 30 with cars parallel parked on both sides in a city center, which I wasn't about to do, haha.

Times were horrid, will not be posting them I didn't swap to my drag setup, ran on my 19" show wheels with all season tires. Car was a handful, wheel hopping and spinning. My 60 foot was 2.11

Lets just say neither of us was under 12.60, and lets say I won at 114 while he ran 124, and he flew passed me after the line. DA 1600 or so at the time.

I got my first 12.60 ish slip, had to call my tuner. "dude my car is running like shit help me please"

Corrected time on my best run was 12.40 116, lets hope Friday has some cool air, and a negative DA.

Yea dear lord is right, I beat a 660hp car that ran a 12.7X at 124. In the staging lane the guy told me he runs 11.9s-12.0s, he saw nothing but my tail lights, and my car was a dog.

Is the track down your way good? Fayetteville hurt my pride yesterday.

I also beat a C5, and lost by 2 cars to a CTS-V coupe, the track was terrible. The CTS-V Coupe had drag radials and 60 foot was 1.99

I'll put it to you like this, if you're not on slicks or 4wd, don't go to Mooresville for TNT... unless you can lighten the front tires on street tars.

Fastest 1/8 mile I got yesterday was 8.26 at 89. My pilot sport AS/3's were not happy at the track. I live too far from the track to swap tires and drive, and I hate leaving stuff unattended so I didn't take my other wheels. TNT = weak track prep in most cases.

No my issue is I go to the track alone most of the time, people steal, and my regular wheels aren't cheap. I refuse to leave $2500 in wheels/tires just sitting unattended.

I once parked a car, went to sleep, woke up, and the car was never seen again.

^^ What track do you run at? I love a good side by side run, even if its with a huge truck.

i mean, swap out the rear tires... and leave your street tires in the trunk. the extra weight in the back will help you hook and you aren't going to loose THAT much time over 80lbs down a 1/4 miles.

now as for parking a car, going to sleep, and never seeing the car again. That sucks

Yea, but ideally I'd like to have a respectable tire on the 19's, so I never have to bother changing for the track. Friend of mine with a cammed, blown, meth etc G8 that ran a best of 10.30 runs r888s on a 20, never swaps tires on track days. R888s come in a 265 and 305 for 19s , but they run wide so the 265 is probably close to a 275.

I figured I would put this here. I haven't seen this Discovery show, but I imagine this guy has a slightly modified big block in the Ford. The old straight six is stout, but I don't think it would stand a chance. Perhaps the Porsche guy doubts him or is a piss-poor driver...
How much hp would it take for this truck to realistically beat the 911 TT? Wheel-spin would be a problem, but the boat probably helps some with that.

Now he has 1100hp + n2o (I think more than before)

And as horrible as the cinematography is on the sho I've seen that truck run 9s without the boat... It will destroy a Porsche.

Also he runs funny car tires on the back iirc.. Wheel spin isn't usually a problem.

I actually gave in and raced somebody today...

She was smokin’ too! I normally don’t mess with people or I’m driving a fast enough car that I just do what I normally do regardless of if somebody would want to race or whatever.

Anyway, this morning was different... I’d lined up next her at one light prior and she gunned it, caught me by surprise. Now the next light was going to lead to the freeway and I wasn’t about to let her get in front of me and ruin my on ramp fun!!! I took her pretty good. She was probably in her (very) late 80s driving a Buick. My 1.6 liters of intecooled fury must’ve made her remember what fear was like to feel.
