Well his draft potential is limited, considering how inaccurate he is on deep balls. You don't draft a QB in an early round who can't hit wide open receivers 25 yards down the field. He's very good at most other aspects of the game, but in today's NFL, that's a huge deal.

^yeah that was kinda my point - i don't disagree with the premise of the article (that he isn't a high NFL prospect). but the entire article/post was centered on him being overrated and the "flavor of the month"...which i hadn't noticed that being the case at all.

"10. Jacoby Brissett, QB, N.C. State
Height: 6-3. Weight: 239.
Projected 40 Time: 4.83.
Projected Round (2015): 4-6.
5/16/15: 2014 saw Brissett complete 60 percent of his passes for 2,344 yards with 22 touchdowns and five interceptions. He showed potential as a pocket-passer. Brissett was on fire against a lot of weak competition even before he lit up Florida State (32-of-48 for 359 yards with three touchdowns). Brissett sat out the 2013 season per NCAA rules after transferring from Florida. He spent 2012 as Jeff Driskel's backup. Brissett played a little as a freshman backup during the 1-year of Charlie Weis as Florida's offensive coordinator."

I think I'd rather take whatever Braxton Miller's odds are.

There's a reason this dude was behind Driskel on the depth chart. You keep him throwing shuffle passes and screens and he looks fine but when the game is on his shoulders he's not enough.

no, he was behind driskell because muschamp is a moron.

but yes, brissett can't throw downfield.

He's gotta try. Jameis Winston proves that it doesn't hurt your NFL stock to throw a pick.

That INT streak does not mean shit if every throw is 3 yards or less.

6-7 at best. More than likely undrafted free agent. Dude isn't an NFL QB

He'll get drafted. You guys must not realize how desperate teams are for QBs.

1-3 definitely seems high though

RW went in the 3rd round, and he probably wouldn't have gone that high if he didn't get that exposure at wisconsin, and generally just have a better college career than brissett

For what it's worth, the "draft round projections" are totally fluid. He'll label dudes as top 10 picks, 2nd-3rd, 4th-6th, etc

Last I checked, Hackenberg was the #2 QB for Kiper & #4 for Rang & McShay. Dude was highly touted out of HS & is playing in a bad system for him, but in the Penn St games I've seen the past few years I haven't seen anything noteworthy about him either. He's been a projected 1st round pick since coming out of HS though, so who knows

0% chance of NFL. Needs to connect with T.A. so he can get a good reference for a job.

Jacoby is still a good QB, he just have limited receivers and piss poor protection. I am confused on how he put up big rush yards last season, he seems like he has slowed down a lot this season.

sometimes you DO have to grip it and rip it. it's why Alex "Baby Hands" Smith will never win shit. checkdowns don't help when you're down 2 TDs

Well expect more interceptions the next couple of games. Our receivers are just not tat good, when your best deep threats are a running back or tailback then that's very telling.

I'll take some turnovers at this point. Ball control is only good when you have the lead. And Jacoby didn't lose us the lead. I'm not trying to pile on him. But he's not the type of guy who is gonna lead you on game winning drives imo.

We need more plays because this shit aint working. Is Grinnage still on the team? Seem like he disappeared. Seems like the only players we have on offense is Jacoby, Dayes, Samuels, and Ramos. Cant score less than 20 points when your defense sucks balls. We need to open up the mid range passes like more slants and hit a wider range of targets. And please no more screens, I can't think of one we did this year that resulted in positive yards.

He got worse this year and which I blame on the coaching staff and Jacoby. Really perplexing how a player can regress from his 4th to 5th season unless he was hurt. Brissett just seemed slower and less accurate all season. Whatever though, glad we had him and not Pete Fucking Thomas the past two seasons. Hope Jalan is a beast.

Was he actually good last year or was it a case of being unusually lucky?

I remember he was still a terrible downfield passer last year, too. Maybe the defenses just adjusted

Brissett definitely regressed on his own. He wasn't accurate and unless he had a huge gap, he wouldn't throw it.

I will say I wish the coaching staff used their TE Grinnage a lot more. That would of helped Jacoby out a lot.
