And as I said in the other 3 threads.

1. Yes I drive a modded G8 with >400hp. Yes its a Pontiac, and your point is? Should I be ashamed of my car. I'm confused since evidently you either drive a shit box, of have no car.

2. If you actually went to a race you would post in here like everyone else does when they are going to a race. But of course you only show up with you decided to post stalk.

You are a troll, a bad one at that. All you can say is Pontiac. Sorry calling my car a Pontiac (Which it is) is not trolling/shaming me. If I wanted something different believe me I can more than afford it.

Not going to post here anymore either.

Take it to the DOT thread; it possesses gems like this:

Quote :
"Where is the longest straight section of road near Raleigh that has little to no traffic/cop prescience. And it needs to have a nice blacktop, I cant hook on potholes. "

Quote :
"And whats wrong with it? More than a little jealously itt. The last I checked tge gaeage is to talk about what you have done to/with your car. Not to talk about cars ypu dream about. Now make up a story about how awesome your 96 civic is."

Danger to manifold / drop it into sport mode.

Lol you are too poor to afford a car under 20 years old, or tickets to a NASCAR race. How do you pay for your internet? Oh you are on a free wifi connection on a Obama phone? Hows that Obamacare and SNAP?

Talk to me about Cars, Racing etc when you actually can afford to do it.

I just don't see Gordon leaving in a year or two. If anything, I could see him replacing Kasey Kahne in the 5 when Kahne's contract runs up. Kahne has been...underwhelming in that car.

^he has been throwing the idea out there. when hamlin fucked up his back he said if he got the same injury he would have retired. also said that if he won sprint cup in 2014 he would retire.

Gordon is not a guy that strikes me at all as the type that would race til he is 50. The last real achievement of his career in my eyes was becoming 3rd all-time in wins when he passed Waltrip, Yarborough, and Allison, leaving him only behind Pearson and Petty who no one will ever pass nowadays.

I know he'd like to win another title but I don't see it at this point (although the bullshit Chase system they've gone to makes it more plausible because it's less based on merit and more a crapshoot).

In regards to Kasey Kahne, the man was completely underwhelming before Hendrick hired him. It's not surprising he's continued to be underwhelming.

Hendrick should have kept Kyle

I don't see Gordon or any other Cup driver just retiring on their own. Their job is too easy, money too good to just walk away. IMO if it was me I'd collect those millions into my 60's

A. Their job is not 'easy' in the sense they have to live in bus half of the week for 9 months a year away from home. Not a good situation especially if you have school aged kids which Gordon will soon.

2. 20 year vets like Gordon dont need money. He is just out there because he enjoys it and he wants to win

I know Gordon's back is in pretty bad shape. At some point wrecks take their toll.

And like beatsunc said, I think Gordon wants to enjoy retired life with his wife and kids. I watched the Pocono Indycar race last year and NASCAR was off that day, his son saw ads for it on New York TV and wanted to go, so Gordon went with his son and his nephew and just attended in the pits as a fan. Surprised me considering the schedule he's on to go to an extra race but maybe he's reached the point he wants to do some fun father-son stuff.

I could see him running select races that pay bigger money for a few years. Question is if Hendrick would want to do that because I don't see Gordon ever driving for another team in NASCAR.

By easy I mean they get paid to do what they love. Yea I'm sure traveling sucks balls, and I completely forgot Gordon has young kids. But I still don't see him leaving that seat in the next 5 years. He's still competitive, he may not win a lot but he's still top 10 material on most days.

Gordon's been racing at a very competitive level since he was 9 years old. He's now 42.

i'd love it if they got about 15-16 different winners this year and threw a big ol monkey wrench into this "win and you're in" horseshit.

^
with 7 winners in 7 races there could very well be a winner that gets bumped. The good news is he will be so far down in the points it will be hard to feel sorry for him.

most likely though, the points still matter a lot if you dont have a win despite what they try to lead you to believe. You need to be in the top 5 or so of the "losers bracket"

^it would be like a Kevin Harvick...who im not sure is even in the Top 30 in points right now, haha.

Also, in 3 days I'll be sitting on the front stretch at Darlington watching them fly by at 180 mph. So glad the weather is supposed to be about perfect.

Next year expand the chase to the top 35. Reset points to 0 and eliminate the bottom 3 after each chase race. Have a winner take all in Miami, (Move the final race to Richmond).

^Drink a beer for me, and hold up a Mountain Dew when Jr takes the lead

Lets not get overly excited. There tends to be a large gap in equipment quality in the Nationwide Series (Although that didn't help Danica). Lets see what happens when they rush him into cup next season.

that was a pretty entertaining race. I've been fully planted on the chase elliott bandwagon since he was running the Pass series races back in 2009 and 10. Awesome talent

1. If he were beating David Starr and Dylan kwasnieski, I'd agree with you. He's dropping Kyle Busch, Matt Kenseth, Kevin harvick, Joey Logano, Kyle Larson, regan smith, etc. there's no gap in equipment there. Hell, harvick and smith are in the same equipment.

2. Doubt they rush him into a full time cup ride next year. Neither he nor Hendricks has any reason to rush him. I can see him running some cup races next year, but doubt it's full time.

I knew he didn't have a winning car. I would have like to see him make it hard. He should have drove it in 3 and just committed to blocking Harvick.

Glad for Harvick. Sucks for Junior.

NASCAR is like pro wrestling with these late race cautions.

Remember when drivers would dominate the last 20-30 laps and almost lap the field? Pepperidge Farm remembers.

Man jr nation died! Why they got so pumped I'll never know. Harvick was the class of the field and had 4 fresh tires. As soon as harvick slid in front of Jimmie coming off turn 2, it was ball game.

I am probably in the minority but i still say there should be a competition caution with 5% to go so they don't need to throw BS yellows
