Man, Pavelec is bad. I'd feel bad for Winnipeg fans if they weren't so insufferable.

Well that's one way to collapse around the crease.

Bummer for Latvia. Although they did get bailed out on the penalty shot, so whatever. Shots were 55-15.

So it looks like the two games are on at 3pm and 5pm on the NBCSN. I guess the US vs. Canada game is on at 5?

You are correct, the game is at noon on Friday. I was going off the uverse channel listings, but they didn't give any indication to which hockey game they will be showing tomorrow in the description.

Uverse lists the game as being on NBCSN at 11:45a on Friday.

yeah, i think they've been running replays later in the day. probably doing the same tomorrow with the women's medal round, although they are also live at 7 (bronze - SWE/SUI) and 12 (gold - USA/CAN)

Man, Tim Peel is so bad. He is one of the worst two referees in the NHL. How does he get the Olympics, let alone a semifinal game?

That's a huge bummer. Martin's been playing really well.

Great moments are born from great opportunities Justin

We're over-pursuing the puck in the defensive zone big time. Got to tighten up there and somehow find a way to get the puck between the dots in the Canadian's zone. PP has been brutal.

^Wow, poor sportsmanship. 2nd time in a row for Canada. Wonder when the real rivalry will be US/Canada instead of US/Russia.

Poor sportsmanship, says a fan of the team with Sidney Crosby as its captain.

^^One of my favorite sports experiences was watching Canada come from behind to beat the USA the last time and being the only person in the bar cheering for Canada. Some people gave me dirty looks, but they were the same ones that left immediately at the end, like they didn't even care. Some of the remaining ones came over to congratulate me. It was like having UNC fans be gracious if we beat them at basketball. It just doesn't seem to happen; this being a great example.

^Don't want to argue about sports. I am a fan of Crosby, because of what he did for Canada. And for it to be in Vancouver, that was just a huge moment. I can't think of an analogy for how that felt. The closest would be if State was behind all game and beat UNC for the National Championships, on a buzzer beater, and it was held at PNC Arena. But on a national scale. There's really nothing like that here. Super Bowl 48 was seen by ~35% of the population. That game was seen by 85% of Canadians. It was awesome. It took me weeks to come down from that high.

Anyway, USA played well in both instances, although this time wasn't nearly as fun, despite the same outcome.

USA fans are like the Duke fans of international competition. Yes I cheer for the US being an American and all but everyone hates us.

After the oshie shootout performance there was a buzz about hockey. It was great to see. Then this team squandered any opportunity to build the brand, so to speak.

We won't see nhl Olympics ever again. The league stood to gain big ground and recognition, and pretty much won't, now. Couple that with the injuries to tavares and zetterberg... I think we will see a resurgence of the world cup of hockey, and run the tournament during the off season. It will move to a 4 year (instead of 8) tournament during summer Olympic years.
