Yes.

The kid playing Jerome Valeska is a phenomenal actor.

I think Barbara Kean is supposed to be a pseudo-Harley Quinn (although not the real one obviously).

I didn't watch the show, but I was told this season is "basically copying the story from the show The Cape"...apparently the new villain played the same role in that show. Interesting if true, probably banking on no one having actually watched that show.

Kinda stupid what they did with Jerome (he is a great actor btw). This guy is exactly like the Joker in every way (except the brightly colored suit/clown makeup) so lets kill him and have his character be the inspiration for the real Joker. So in this rendition, the most chaotic and ruthless nemesis to Batman is nothing but a copycat criminal who was fascinated with a few-weeks-long crime spree by an 18 year old.

SPOILER ALERT!!!

^ while I agree it was anti-climatic, I thought the line from the new commissioner about how he would be completely forgotten before he killed her in the police station had some deeper meaning. If Jerome had kept going with what he was doing for an extended amount of time, I think everyone would've remembered him and the Joker would've been seen as just some copy cat. I think they had to kill him off quickly in order to make him forgettable to the masses. Also, I didn't really think Jerome had a chance to survive, isn't one of the most important characteristics about the Joker that no one really knows where he came from?

Good point there. His [psychic] blind father did say that he would be a curse for Gotham for years to come though, so they are trying to make it so that his actions DO inspire the Joker in some way.

I agree that kid is a great actor however I prayed that somehow they weren't going to make him the joker. I was relived. lol. This is show is doing this muppet babies batman villain thing. Kid catwoman, kid poison ivy, kid scarecrow, a young adult Havery Dent (??????).

I get the feeling guy from the Shield that's the new commissioner is a Galavan plant.

Butch was funny on the show holding the two hostages while Penguin stabbed the mayoral candidate to death.

Hostage: "Why are you doing this?"
Butch: "Honestly, I have no idea. We've been doing crazy stuff all day."

Just finished season 1. I love it for all the non-Batman things Gordon does. I like classic detective stories and this has been like Dragnet on steroids. The future Batman villains just feel like nerdy easter eggs in the background.

Last night's mid-season finale was all kinds of ridiculous.

-Is Nygma in jail?
-Gordon openly did last night what he would not do to Penguin in the very first episode.
-Was Lucius Fox locked in Wayne Manor's basement from very early in the season until he got the computer fixed?

Leaving aside Cat conveniently being in Penguin's window to give them a way in to Galavan's tower.

^^^^Why would Nygma kill Lee? Wouldn't shock me if they just wrote Lee out of the story since she left at the end of this season and I don't see Gordon changing his lifestyle. Just write and say she lost the baby and that Gordon is trying to move on.

-I don't think Fox was down there the whole time, but I don't find it hard to believe he was coming-and-going each day to work on it when he had availability and just happened to be down there while Bruce was abducted.
-Having Gordon cross the line was a bit much, was a bit surprised they went that route. But at the same time, hard to compare the Galavan thing to Penguin. Gordon had no reason to shoot Penguin, he was being forced to by someone. Galavan was the reason Barbara along with several other officers/civilians died, and Gordon just watched him get away with one crime and he was baiting him like he had a contingency plan already.
-I agree with Cat, that was one of those "too convenient" plot devices.

Not surprised by Mr. Freeze, they announced that casting before the season, was wondering when he'd come along and how they'd introduce him. Looks like he'll be the main baddie for 2nd half of the season.

No reason to lose the baby. Gordon has to have a daughter...who originally was supposed to be Barbara Jr aka Bat Girl, but I guess that can't happen anyway because Lee would shoot him if he asked to name the baby Barbara.

So the subtitle of this whole season is "Rise of the Villains". Halfway through the season, the only villain that "rose" has been killed. You could argue that now that Butch and Barbara are out of the picture (even though they are more henchmen) there are even less villains. Penguin is exactly where he was at the beginning of the season, if not less villainous since Gordon probably sees him as more of a "necessary" evil that he knows he can bargain with if needed. We did get the Mr. Freeze teaser I guess, but I was expecting more honestly.

Also, lol at them needing Selena to get into Galavan's HQ. After she snuck in and knocked that guy out, she walked up to that sliding door to let them in. It was literally open a crack. Not even locked. When she walked up, you could see their feet standing on the other side, hahaha. They could have just strolled right in and taken out the lone guard with a single shot.

Galavan rose and fell, but now is part of this weird place collecting dead bodies of villains.
Firefly rose and fell, also part of the collection.
Nygma is on the rise.
Penguin rose and fell and rose.
Freeze on the horizon.

Remember, this was only half of the season, still more time to introduce new villains.

I do like the Azrael stand-in for Batman. The blackout at the GCPD was pure Batman, just from the other side of things. And then him on the bridge at the end.

Seriously one of the most terrible fictional characters I've ever seen in my life. Show is complete garbage.

I haven't watched since the mid-season finale. Season 1 was just soooo good and 2A was disappointing aside from the Riddler and Jerome.

Riddler and penguin have been outstanding. I like Alfred a lot and am pretty content with Gordon. The actor chosen for Falcone was good.

The rest of the show has just been absolutely awful.
