Credit where it's due...team survived the shooting onslaught in the first half and clamped down as much as you can expect in the second half. Gott going to the zone threw Richmond off their game even with the white donk bombing 3s on us. We still have major defensive lapses that get exposed when Anya is out of the game but between Beejay, Washington and Caleb we can be fun to watch if a bit naive on that end of the floor.

Huge to be 5-0 at this point. We're going to be a tough out in the ACC when Lacey and Turner are burying tough shots like that.

rebounds and free throws were both the difference makers. 18-22 tonight, with three of those misses coming from anya and one from lacey (who the person a few seats down from me was calling a ball hog ).

^^ I wouldn't say we played great, but we did enough to win. Dribble penetration is killing us and it lead to a lot of open looks on the kick outs. As stated before it was a gutsy move to switch to zone since they were hitting a lot of outside shots, but it was a good adjustment by Gott

Gott said in the postgame that our guys were so scared of the backdoor cut that they weren't coming out to guard the three, thus the adjustments to zone, triangle and two, etc. They shot 60% from 3 in the first half, ~30% in the second. Obviously having Beejay back there to guard the rim in the second made a big difference too.

Calm down. Lacey is a better three point shooter than Warren, that's all. He's also a better distributor, but Warren was Mr. Buckets, so try and not take offense to that either.

That being said, Lacey is probably our best shooting guard since Grundy...and Grundy was a fucking boss.

Lacey is definitely our best incoming transfer in awhile. Great scorer, can be a 2nd point guard for breaking presses with him and Dog Barber in the game together, good long and mid range game. He'll end up having a bad game and be a cancer though according to some. But I've been impressed.

The Jacksonville game is the only time Cody has played more than Dez. Dez will get minutes this year because of defense and other situational needs, but obviously not as many as last year when we didn't have as much depth.

We left right after it ended and had to walk a little ways but we got right out. Didn't have to wait in ANY traffic in the parking or on Trinity.
