I'd be really surprised if we've swept a DH with walk-off HR before. I certainly don't remember if happening since I've been going to State games. 4/26/2015 10:30:14 PM |

not sure of tiebreakers, but here are standings as of this morning UNC & Notre Dame play a doubleheader today after cancellation last night... I guess we should be pulling for Carolina to sweep, but that's so hard to do. Clemson plays non-conference series this weekend and FSU next weekend. Georgia Tech is playing Pitt and Virginia Tech appears to have the weekend off.
1. Louisville 21-4 2. Miami 19-8 3. FSU 17-8 4. UNC 13-10 T5. Notre Dame 12-12 T5. NC State 12-12 T5. Clemson 13-13 8. Georgia Tech 12-13 9. Virginia Tech 12-14 T10. Wake Forest 11-14 T10. Virginia 11-14 12. Boston College 9-17 13. Duke 7-17 14. Pittsburgh 6-19 5/9/2015 12:44:43 PM |

You are correct. A W tonight makes us 14-12, thus at worse 14-15, and Wake 11-16, thus at best 14-16. Wake's last series is at Duke. 5/11/2015 11:48:01 AM |

yeah, we looked pretty rough at the beginning of this season (and still do at times), but much every team in the conference outside of Louisville and Miami has been rather inconsistent this year. we've gotten hot against teams that we're battling for position in the standings, so that's helped a lot.
^ Carolina was ranked 15-20ish depending on the preseason poll. most polls had them ranked before getting swept this weekend, so they're not THAT far off of expectations. Virginia, meanwhile, was top 4 in every preseason poll (#2 in multiple) but is now unranked in most. 5/11/2015 7:39:00 PM |

3-3 through 4 thanks to 2 Ratledge homers and a dumb pitching change when Johnny Piedmonte hadn't given up a single hit through 3 2/3 (scattered baserunners from a walk, HBP, and a couple errors) 5/11/2015 8:08:15 PM |

I'm really surprised they only scored one on that. Deathrage has been arguably our best hitter over the past couple weeks, so I can't be too mad at him considering he's a freshman and our other options are Armstrong, McLain and DeJuneas
6-4 State at the stretch

Blew a golden opportunity in the bottom of the first bases loaded with no outs fly out then a double play. Wilder hit two in the top of the second gave up two runs and got yanked. 5/14/2015 6:42:20 PM |

Lost 4-3. All of the runners that scored for Louisville got on base via BB or HBP. Loading the bases with no outs and getting nothing in the 1st really sucked. No lead is really safe vs Louisville either. They were down 5-0 to FSU and won 6-5.
Back at it tomorrow. 6:30 first pitch and there'll be post game fireworks. 5/14/2015 10:18:53 PM |

with our win and Carolina's loss, we are guaranteed to finish no worse than 6th and thus will avoid having to win a play-in game to be in pool play for the ACC Tournament.
Clemson is currently up 7-0 on FSU in the 7th (rain delay). assuming they hold on, we have to match what they do tomorrow to get the 5th seed. 5/15/2015 10:19:21 PM |
