Gott said in the postgame locker room that they were gonna "go home and rest for a couple days" or something

Gott had said outside of Dail when they greeted the team that "we're heading out tomorrow for Syracuse" or something like that. Tomorrow would have been Monday. But it makes more sense to go today.

Nah, yall just dont listen. He said "we are going to get back to work on Monday. And we are going to Syracuse and our hope is to keep advancing etc."

People just assumed That meant the team was going to go to Syracuse Monday when he didnt really state it clearly.

Here's how we win:

-Cat has to be Cat. He needs to be as quick and as fast as he's ever been. He needs to be able to beat his man one on one and make a shot if its an easy bucket or be able to dish to the right guy for a big man to flush it or contain and kick out to Turner or Lacey and be able to rely on Lacey to make any shot he takes.

-We have to move the ball and set SOLID screens.

-Turner has to make his shots. He's beginning to not be a 3 point threat and really makes the paint crowded. He has to get back to the old Turner.

-Free Throws...we have to make them. Enough said.

-Decent defense...if we limit turnovers and play our offense we won't have to guard much because we will be on control. We just need to contain and limit easy buckets.

-Limit stupid fouls (Ralston)

How we lose:
We lose if we don't shoot well as a team and just stand around. If we let Harrell dominant and be slack on defense for most of the game then we will be trampled because we started worrying about it too late. We have enoguh big bodies to throw at him if we need to...rotate them in and out.

Hopefully this good TEAM will show up. They seem to mesh together extremely well.

I think the key for us winning is to only let one of their main players have a big night. We can't afford Harrel AND Rozier to both go off. As poor as this Louisville team tends to shoot, I don't think they'll beat us if we stop Harrel.....they're simply not a team that spreads it around. That being said, we have to play a similar style like we did in the Villanova game, and spread it around. Go Pack!

try and wear them down. They're only 6 deep with another dude or two playing <5 min per game. I think this is gonna be a really close game. Don't see either team being capable of a blowout. I hope we come out on top. I really, really hope that we come out on top.

Like I said, the only thing that worries me is Louisville coming out in some sort of weird zone and it taking our guys a while to figure it out. They played some zone in the N Iowa came and threw them completely out of rhythm. I don't Louisville can blow us out, but they're a tough team to come back on if you get down.

Harrell is a beast, but Rozier is the one that makes them go. Gonna need Cat, Dez, and Lacey to man up on him.

^^ That might be the silver lining to the beat-down Duke gave us in the ACCT. It shouldn't surprise us if a L'ville or any other team at this point throws a weird zone at us, and we should be better prepared to handle it. And of we're prepared we should be able to beat those defenses pretty regularly, it's not like their guys are use to playing that kind of D, which leads to breakdowns.

The biggest factor is coaching and even our own fans know it. Louisville is not worried about us pulling out some tactical master stroke, but we are all worried about pitino curb stomping us the way duke did in the acct.

One of these days you'd hope people would fear our game prep and tactics

As long as we don't look clueless and get blown out like in the Duke game. Getting to the sweet 16 obviously great season regardless, just don't end it playing embarrassing basketball. We still have the Kyle Washington Ace up our sleeve. We can get 25 from him if we need it.

I'll be disappointed only because I think we've actually got a great chance of getting to the Final Four. This is a 50/50 toss up game to me. I didn't think we had a great chance of beating Kansas a few years ago. I also wasn't jacked about playing UNC again. I'm not really scared of Michigan State or Oklahoma.

I think it's normal to be disappointed in a loss and not disappointed in the season. I think we've had a great end to the season, and I'm so happy we've made it to the Sweet Sixteen, but I would be disappointed to see it end to Louisville, a team we've already beaten before, instead of the 1 or 2 seed.

Analyzing Friday's Sweet 16 matchups, here's my take on North Carolina State (8) vs. Louisville (4) at 7:37 p.m. in Syracuse:
I said from the start the East was the weakest region of the four and now it's the Lost Region. With Villanova and Virginia out, we are left with a couple of uninspiring matchups in an uninspiring locale. What if you bought tickets in advance to the Carrier Dome and now you're faced with driving up I-81 to see this slop? It's like when they got the couple together on The Dating Game and sent them on "an all-expenses-paid weekend trip to Long Beach!"
I've heard Syracuse referred to as "Wilkes-Barre with a dome" and what better place to play host to a quartet of posers. Anyway, somebody is getting out of here to the Final Four and my money is on one of the two Hall of Fame coaches, one in each game. Maybe we can at least have a little fun on Sunday with Pitino versus Izzo.
The Cardinals are one of those handful of unassuming entries with hope of staying in the race after driving around wreckage under yellow. They skirted top-seed Nova which gagged one up on Saturday and instead get a thoroughly ordinary N.C. State outfit they already know well from the ACC.
It's not like the Cards are a fearsome force, either. They lost lead guard Chris Jones a month ago when he was accused of and arrested on rape charges. He was subsequently thrown off the team. Pitino had to shove hometown freshman Quentin Snider into the fire and he's performed admirably considering. Snider scored 26 points and was generally steady if unspectacular in Louisville's wins over Cal-Irvine and Northern Iowa.
The Wolfpack, meanwhile, did away with Nova by basically playing tougher and toward their athleticism. Nothing about Mark Gottfried's Pack is particularly compelling. During the meat of the season, mid-December to mid-February, they lost 10 of 16 games.
But they began to turn it around actually with a 74-65 win at Louisville in which the Cardinals could not contain the Pack's lead guard, 6-2 sophomore Anthony "Cat" Barber. He consistently blew by the Cards with baseline drives and got to the free throw line 13 times (making 10) for 21 points.
Who gets to check him? That's the freshman Snider. Good luck, kid.
All in all, it shapes up as something of a rock fight with no one compelling to root for. N.C. State will lie back on defense and that jibes perfectly with Louisville's inability to hit the three. Delightful. At the same time, the Cardinals have a little more interior muscle than doughnut Nova and will give the Pack a battle on the glass the Wildcats did not.
Any way you slice it, if there's a game you can pretend to really want to see, then agree to join the wife on a Bed Bath & Beyond trip because, well, you miss her, this is the one. I expect an ugly game in the high 50s or so with Louisville prevailing only because Pitino gets the edge on Gottfried: 'Ville, 59-54.

I'm worried. The only ACC team I hate more than UofL is UNC. Losing to these commuter college scumbags would be the worst way to end our season! I think we can win, but absolutely dread losing. Fuck UofL, fuck Pitino. Go State
