4 loss season

Really happy we won, but lets not get ahead of ourselves. LSU lost to Marquette which looked like a horrible team a couple days ago. LSU was obviously overrated due to having Simmons. I hope they have a great season now to give us a strong win on our resume, but I have a feeling this win will be rather insignificant as the season progresses.

Once they get to sec play theres only like 3 other teams that can beat them. Bubble team at worst top 15 team at best.

The foul occurs when the refs whistle blows. Not when the foul actually occurs. And he blew the whistle after the shot clock went off.

LSU is going to get a good PF eligible in december, as mentioned, and also their most veteran guard who is a very good 3pt shooter is having Henderson like injury problems right now. He will be back in a couple weeks I think.

LSU is going to end up being a much better win that ASU would've been. Really need to hang on until Henderson is back and healthy. Can't afford another W&M type blow up.

Getting more production out of Cody Martin & Abu like we did today would be huge.

Wow, what a great an unexpected win from this team. Wins like this are huge come tourney time, and I am glad that we got one of these out of the way. This turned out to be some pretty great preseason scheduling by Gott. I like having some tough challenges to start the season as opposed to playing nothing but cupcakes up until January (cough cough, Herb).

We really needed that win for the resume, not that I think we are a tourney team currently but with some improvement its possible and we need those wins. We have to avoid any more wtf losses and would be nice to get a win over Michigan or mizzou to give us some padding come ACC time. If we go into ACC play with more than 4 losses we are toast though.

I really hope we beat Mizzou and Michigan because those games are ones it looks like we should win. Neither of those teams look very good.

What is amazing is that he has been able to find the points despite starting the season shooting cold. His distribution numbers are very high and seems to flirt with a triple double nearly every game. Maybe he isn't aggressive from the three because Martin and Maverick have been pretty hot to start the season off, but I think that it will eventually start to fall. Opposing teams seem to be backing off of him, so he's got the space.

It is very nice to see that we have another strong rebounding guard to follow in Zo's footsteps.

Agree with whoever said it above. Once Cat can reliably hit that little midrange pull up, we will be a tough out. Missed several last night that should have fallen, given the space he created etc.

He was #30 in the 2015 class, recruited as a 3pt shooter.

Not very many high school sharp shooters come straight to D1 hitting at above 38%. He is doing a pretty good job so far for a frosh.

simmons is really good.

but the suck-fest over him is kinda ridiculous. he's a big reason that his team lost last night because he didn't assert himself. he missed FTs. he missed a fucking dunk. i'm not saying he's bad - he didn't have a turnover all night and did a lot of things well. but let's maybe pump the brakes on calling him the best player in the nation when he made 1 FG and fouled out against a really average NC State team last night.

if he was truly an NBA player playing in the DLeague (like that link ^ says) he'd have taken more than 6 shots last night. that's on him.

it's not like he didn't shoot because we shut him down. he just made a conscious effort to get his teammates more involved. it was only his 5th game, too. dude's gonna be unstoppable after he gets more games under his belt.
