Hurray for earnings season after tax reform. NFLX up 7.5% - have $Texas in their stock and just bought options 2 weeks ago, so big time help. Same for UNH - have a large position and bought call options when everything dipped two weeks ago.

Hurray for AMZN crushing its earnings. Back to an all time high in my portfolio. Several other stocks of mine are down, but 35% of my portfolio is in AMZN. Tomorrow will be a good day.

Gotten crushed on AAPL and NVDA, close to even on NFLX and down 5% in NVDA...

Bought into Cisco and Target today. Apple, Nvidia, and Alibaba are my biggest YTD losers.

Had a hell of a run between March and now. Went from down $70K tonup $35K in that period.

Bought ODFL stock and options last week when it dropped from $150 to $135 for no reason. Stock is up ~7% in 5 days and option return is 160%. NVDA has been juicing in preparation for earnings tomorrow and all other chip stocks have jilled it. Have options and stock there and AMZN/AAPL have rebounded nicely the last few weeks.

Thinking about buying BOX. Meant to get on that 1-2 weeks ago and it has popped nicely and will likely keep doing it as it relates to AI.

All is good in the world until it isn’t.

Are we in the proverbial 6th inning or 9th inning? I believe there will be a correction at some point, just don’t know if that is in the near or distant future. Pretty good wave to ride in the meantime.

sounds like the opposite of me - went up $40k; down $12k; now down $5k

crypto, man.

I just want to get off Mr. Bones' Wild Ride

^^ A correction is an arbitrary statistic widely recognized as 10%, we already hit that from the Jan 26 high to Feb 8 low, slightly breached that low again on April 2.

Bought and sold out of Box...couldn't get behind it and didn't fully understand the company.

Entire holdings consist of:

ODFL
AAPL
NVDA
NFLX
AMZN
UNH

Only one lately that has been underperforming is UNH, but all others have killed it. I still believe it will do well, so I'll sit tight for now.

I regret selling my ODFL options early - up 227%. Would have been up 375% if I waited 5 more days to sell. Sold UNH options up 27%, which was good as that has been trending down 0.5% daily lately...still can't decide to stay in, load up on more options or pull money out now that I'm at an all time high in my portfolio across the board.

In March, was down around $70-80K, since then I've recovered and then some and am probly $50K up overall. Not bad for a 2-3 month stint.

What else are you guys buying these days and how much research are you doing before jumping in with a sizeable stake?

Crystal ball, what say you?

box = cloud file storage. what part of their company did you not understand? (genuinely curious and hoping that question doesn't come off like I'm being a dick)

we use them at my company at an enterprise level, so I may be able to shed some light.

I had liked that they were somehow more widely accepted than DropBox and their association with AI. Missed the big run up but squeezed a negligible profit out of it.

Had SQ put to me in December at $43 for a $2.85 premium. Rolled calls all spring and then just had it called away at $53 for a $0.90 premium then sold $55 Jun puts at $2.35.

Unfortunately I'd had my previous position called away at $27 in October after rolling calls all last summer so I missed a lot of the pop. Just added up all of my SQ option premiums and it came to $16.01/share. Add in the realized gains from sales and it's about the same as if I'd just bought and held. Dang.

Increased subscribers is the important number...I guess new good shows can lead to that but even an award winning show otherwise does not have much direct effect on earnings.

NFLX is going to hurt today. Options were up 150% and will go down by 50%. Also had some stock holdings.

UNH beat earnings but doesn’t show stock movement yet.

It opened way down, $346.95 (-$53.53 from yesterday's closing), but it's already gone back up to the $380's. I bought more of it first thing this morning and am very glad I did.

anyone have experience with angel capital groups?

I'm starting to look into getting involved with http://www.aimgr.com...more likely in a couple of years from now, but I'm starting to look into it. Might start attending some of their events when they're in my city (approx monthly).

Made about 60% on TEAM (Atlassian) in six months, but figured I'd dump it since they just sold HipChat to Slack
Wouldn't mind picking up that if it ever IPOs
Also looking to buy some Coca-Cola now that they just acquired Costa

I can't find on fidelity a nice chart saying you are up X since this date. I can only find my purchase date and how much I'm up since then (meaning if I bought it last year, I can't see my return YTD for this year, just cumulative return). Where can I find more detailed metrics?

took a chance on TLRY soon as they dropped and holy shit!

Tripled up in less than 2 months, my guys! Also, holding onto NVDA, PS, MSFT, and ROKU has panned out quite well this year.

I still have 45% of my portfolio in AMZN, with UNH, ODFL, NVDA, NFLX & AAPL rounding out my portfolio. Everything has been stellar except NFLX, which has still done well (got in around $280/share).

I'm invested in MJ (cannabis ETF), up 28%.

I'm now at +43.5% on AMD. I don't want to sell yet since it's still going up more every day, but I'm still nervous it's going to burst any day.

I can't lock in a lot of my gains without paying ordinary income taxes...hopefully momentum last. Still fluctuates a fair amount. Down about $25K from the peak of last week.

Made some money rolling calls on MJ over the past couple of months. Just used the gains to buy some January 2020 $51 calls for $3.00 and January 2021 $51 calls for $4.20 .

Hopefully the craziness passes by then and weed stocks trade more on fundamentals. I could also see increased legalization after the next two rounds of elections.

If you asked me 2 weeks ago, I would tell you I love the market. Last week, I was feeling Now I'm just OK. Hit my all time high on Oct 3, then within 10 days, lost $145K. I've gained about half back since then. Still up overall, but went from 30-40% up to 10-13% over last year...

I lost a year's worth of gains during the dip last week (probably chump change compared to the rest of you but it was a lot for me). I've made about half of it back since then.

^^^,^ Whats yalls strategy for managing your risk. Do either of yall set trailing stops or sell to cover your costs when you are up with a holding? I try to be very disciplined on covering my initial investments, when I can. I need to do better about setting stops, even if they are something crazy like 20% drop.
