The only Bezos's rule of thumb I see is about Bezos's strategy for feeding his employees pizza, not statistics. I do love me some pizza, though.

Hey look, the whole foundation of "I'd really like to shoot my neighbor today out of fear and dogma, free of consequence, and then go to Walmart on a beer run and watch football in the afternoon."

Ignoring data in favor of vibes and anecdotes is a very common theme for the party in power!

kind of funny how you’ve gone from having ChapGPT write your posts for you to now arguing against data that your warped world view has you convinced is wrong

different shades of pathetic, but still pathetic

You couldn't articulate either my points here or my world view.

Sure.

That'll be what happens.

Just like when all my relatives told me Obama would "take all the guns and redistribute the wealth" in 2016.

^ yeah Trump is literally Hitler too for saying people bring drugs across the border. I believe all the narratives concurrently.

When you celebrate a murder for someone saying DEI bad and burn down/shout down your opposition it’s going to create a cycle and no one’s hands will be clean. I just hope it’s over before my kid is old enough to pilot a drone. And China isn’t involved so we can still get motors and servos.

While Cael is full of hyperbole here, there is some truth to consequences when you consistently demonize someone.

Is it demonization when youre right though?

Trump is following in hitlers footsteps. We learn about history specifically to not repeat it. If you need to see gas chambers before you fight the Nazis it’s too late then. We should be stopping this now

I can’t think of another way to utilize the lessons of history here without “demonizing” people.

^ Yes. That’s the whole turn the other cheek lesson. Only thing that breaks the cycle.

Trump is 79. If he was Hitler it would have happened much earlier. If you want to make the argument for Vance or Miller I’ll hear it.

We are on year 10 of Trump is Hitler and all we got is less illegals than Obama deported.

That makes zero sense.

We have masked goons disappearing people, we have 30,000 people detained with no charges, we have rampant allegations of abuse at these facilities, we have broad defunding of scientific research and higher ed, Supreme Court allowing racial targeting of any brown American, ideological purges of government at unprecedented scales, to suggest that freedom loving Americans stay quiet through all this is absurd. And if you read history it’s the exact mentality that lead to the rise of Nazis to become the analogy for evil they are today.

^^If so, it's an immature, undeniably flawed lesson. If you're dealing with a person/group intent on causing you harm/death, turning the other cheek will simply remove any obstacles between you and your death. If you follow Ahmisa, maybe that might work for you, but many people are more into self preservation.

And there's another way to break the cycle: One party kills the other party. Cycle ended, simple as that. Sure, a new cycle may begin, but that one is over. In other words: You have a choice between two ethically defensible actions, even if you, personally, don't want a choice.

What a fucking joke. "Data is wrong, anecdotes are right." Then we have "Trump is too old to be like Hitler," because yeah, the common factor we're worried about is their relative age.

Even that, like pretty much all other nonviolent movements, is fundamentally predicated on violence. These movements work by baiting the oppressor into committing violence, contrasting that with your own peaceability, and then hoping the difference is enough to disgust public/world opinion until your oppressor stops.

"I am just going to keep posting that the TX governor recently pardoned a political murderer.

The dude texted "I'm going to shoot protestors", then went and shot a Black Lives Matter protester. He was convicted in a jury trial.

Hard to find a more blatant example of celebrating political violence."

Add this to Jan 6th pardons. Left might have some folks on bsky condoning violence, right has them in the governors mansion and white house.
