WTF. I just took a total screw job on Pokerroom.
$5 buy in tourney. I was 4th in chips with under 100 people left (started w/ ~400) so the payoff is pretty nice.
So I get A,A. Bet hard because a few guys were calling everything. Flop came A,4,J. I move all-in. Guy with 9,9 calls. Can't lose unless running 9's show up. Well guess fucking what? 9,9.
Ok. There goes about 1/3 of my stack. 3 hands later now.
I get 10,10. Bet to get some people out before the flop. 2 stay in. Flop comes 10, Q, 5. Guy goes all-in before me. So I figure he doesn't have pocket Q's and call. Sure enough I was right, he had pocket 5's. So I figure I got this hand. Nope. Fucking 5 on the turn. Of course the 10 doesn't come on the river so I took it in the ass again.
Ok. There goes 1/2 of what I had left. 2 hands later.
A,K clubs in my hand. Flop comes A, K, K. Alright I got this. There is NO WAY I'm losing this hand. Full house on the flop. Basically the only thing that beats me is pocket Aces. No chance I lose, right? Guy goes all-in with 100 chips more then me, so I of course I have to call. Figure he had a K or an A maybe. Nope mother fucker has pocket A's. So his full house beats mine.
I bust out on 3 straight hands I played that I was close to unbeatable.
That was the most ridiculous set of hands I've ever seen in my life. That site has GOT to be rigged. 8/8/2005 10:44:23 PM |

Wow, either that is some really tuff luck, or it is rigged.
BUT I have seen pople get lucky as crap on the river after they go all in. It's almost like saying " I have to have a four to win" automatically spits out the four.

I have AA, dude has KK, and other dude has QQ....King comes on the river to take it all........I expect to see that type stuff on party poker but for a live cash game it was crazy to see 8/9/2005 11:36:42 AM |

I woulda made a bigger reraise, but thats it. You had a big hand and put all your chips in preflop, nothign wrong with that.
Nothing tips off a newb more than the minimum reraise on the flop. I've seen it down countless times by fish playing AA or KK. Not so much with QQ or AK, but it does happen sometimes. They see they have a huge hand and just make the min raise to assure themselves the original raiser at least will stay in. I've folded in the situation a few times, only calling when I have position and the right pot odds.
Saw it in the last sit-n-go I played. A guy raised, was min-raised by a fish with a lot of chips. First guy goes all-in and the fish shows AA. Classic.... 8/9/2005 5:07:40 PM |

actually
i dont believe he got beat by quads on the turn/river twice in the same tourney like that, even on poker room
but maybe
i sometimes think that poker room is rigged as well.... supposed to be to get the betting and rake up on the ring games, but the same shit happens in tournament play cause its the same game engine. ive never seen so many people that could honestly think they have a legit shot at the pot.
i mean in live play, of course you have KK vs AA vs QQ occasionally... but not at the rate i saw it over there. same thing with sets/flushes, never seen so many in such a short time in my life

Son of a bitch....
Still in my rut, and it just got deeper. Had a nice chip lead after beating two all-ins with AA, got rockets again in middle position again. Raised 4 BBs and was called by the BB and "Mr. Suckout."
Flop comes 3, 2, 6 with two hearts (I don't have a heart). BB bets 1/3 of the pot, Mr. Suckout calls, and I go all-in to protect my rockets. BB folds, Mr. Suckout thinks a while before calling. He turns over QQ, and proceeds to catch runner runner hearts for a Q high flush.
Damnit... but I still have about 900 chips with blinds at 50/100.
Down to three players, Mr. Suckout still in. I had actually managed to retake the chip lead, and was sitting on the button with AJ. I doubled the BB, and Mr. Suckout goes all-in. I Call quickly, and he's got A2 suited...
blank blank blank.... blank..... 2
I had chips left, but only about 1000 with 400 chip blinds. I eventually finished third, with Q/3 suited losing to pocket 3s. Geez, when things are bad.... they're bad... 8/10/2005 6:00:22 AM |

The most enjoyable hand I've ever played in poker:
$3/$6 Limit Hold-em/Omaha rotation -- We were on the second Hold-em round of the night and I have pocket kings under the gun. I raised the big blind to $6. I got 5 callers, including both small and big blind. Flop is K 7 2 rainbow. Small blind bets, big blind raises. I re-raise of course, and turn over my hand to show everyone at the table. Small blind calls!!??
I have never seen anything like it in my life. He folds on the turn when the 7 pairs the board and gives me a full house. To this day I have no clue what he was playing. Runner straight, and runner flush are my only possible assumptions. It was such a great hand. 8/10/2005 2:32:11 PM |

I've had a really good day, but anyway:
Had 88 so I called in middle position. Flop was 8 2 2. 2 clubs I check someone bets .25. I call. And guy 3 calls Next card comes and is club, so I hope someone hit a flush. Someone bets and everyone calls. Last card comes and guy bets $4 with pot about $3 guy 2 folds. I raise to 10. He raises me. So I go all in with about $20 left.
He had 3 of a kind 2s
Made about $70 there. 8/10/2005 4:20:50 PM |

^^ There's 345 chips in the pot and you bet 60? That's why he stuck around. Now on the turn he has the open ended and flush draw, so a small bet won't do it there either. When he raised you on the turn, I'm all-in unless I have a good reason to suspect he's got a straight made. People will play any draw unless you make 'em pay to see it. 8/10/2005 5:51:15 PM |

^^^You definitely should've gone all-in after the turn. With a straight draw and flush draw on the table, you don't want to let this guy see the river.
Whether you should have made a bigger bet on the flop is debateable, since you didn't have a lot of information on the guy at that point. It depends a lot on your poker personality. 8/10/2005 6:12:59 PM |

$5 MT with 675 in it. 35 left, about midway into the $. Blinds are 1k/2k and I have 8300 left (but considering I never had more than 11500, not bad)
I'm in 2nd position with AdJd and go all in preflop get 1 caller, big stack from button, who shows Qh10h
Flop: Ah Jc 3s.... ok he has a straight draw, but i like my 2 pair Turn: Jh.... ok, I have a boat. But, you know what's next River: Kh

i have restored my faith in online poker ... for the next hour at least. or maybe i shoudl just say, i've restored my faith in my online play. was in a sit and go and down to 250 with five people left. i was VERY short stacked comparitively. however, i'm pretty aggressive with a short stack and had played very tightly, so it definitely worked to my advantage. i ended up second with my AhKh losing to Q7os. i was sb and went all-in preflop for about half his chips and he called. typical suckout. oh well. guess he "had to call." i hate it when people say that. 8/11/2005 11:24:03 AM |

^^No, I'm not living in Vegas. Yet. I'm thinking about moving out there to deal (and play, and do some stand-up, etc.). I'm pretty damn close to packing up and moving. Maybe next month?
Just had an open-ended heart straight flush draw in an OHL SnG with KhJh in my hand and 10hQh on the board. I thought I was going to get the only royal flush that I'm missing but hit the 9h on the river to get the 9-K straight flush. What a tease.
Vegas stories to come...

Played $5/10 NL last night at The Palms with Danny Masterson, Evelyn Ng, and Jonathan Schecter...
Best part about it was that most everyone else at the game sucked... not only was it great fun, but I made $2150 in just a few hours of work.
I love Vegas! 8/14/2005 2:51:22 PM |

I just won a $200+15 qualifier for some Saturday tourney on Party Poker. Started with like 120 people. So anyhow, anyone elver played in it, or won one? Will they send an email giving details about the next tourney? Any idea how many will be in the next tourney? I'm kind of bummed. Would have rather finished 5th and gotten the $101. 8/14/2005 4:05:51 PM |
