does someone have a still of jack standing in front of the coffin?

From my perspective the coffin looked too small for a full grown man like locke. It would have to be a small man (like ben), a woman, or an adolescent.

Ben seems the most likely, but up till now jack has only hated him.
Also Kate seems to dislike whoever it was when she asked jack why she should have been at the funeral.

Or it could be one of those plot twists that the writers forget about and we never see anything about it again.


and kate was hot on the island..not so much at the end. That look she gave jack after he kissed juliette was the best.

once again, i doubt the numbers are just gone. Lost suffers from one thing (im not complaining at all, i enjoy the show). Too many ideas hurt the show. The writers and producers will bring them back up eventually so im not worried about stuff just being forgotten.

the best part of the funeral is that nobody attended, which points to Ben (his dad's dead, he's done nothing but piss people off, etc)

at least if Locke died, don't you think somebody like his mother would go to the funeral? She was still around, after all.

my first guess for the person in the coffin was locke...then thought maybe juliet...but now that i know it is a man, scratch that...who knows, the people on the other end of the transmission could have ended up being the enemy and jack and company had to side with ben until penny's crew found the island...after everything that had happened though, it doesn't make sense that jack would have such an emotional connection to ben

I actually could see Jack making a connection with Ben. Ben is the first one to tell Jack that he is making a mistake by making that phone call. Now, theres no telling what will happen over the next 3 seasons but maybe some fuck up shit happens that makes Jack realize that Ben was right. Who knows though. As usual everyones ideas will be shot down by some crazy shit that happens at the end of season 4.

And the newspaper article says "The body of J...........ham of New York..."

^^Mikhail didn't die the first time. The defense perimeter wasn't set to full charge. The second time was because this was a TV show but I believe he is fully dead now.

I don't think kate and sawyer are clearly hitched.

its all downhill from here folks

the only intriguing part of the whole thing was the underwater hatch--everything else was annoying as hell

wasn't anywhere near as spectacular as last season's finale and the story's ruined for the next 3 seasons by revealing what happens to Jack...

the whole "life after the island" thing was a big letdown and not surprising

i think i'm going to put the lost writers in a cave under the cloud...

Best episode ever in my opinion...

A couple points now that I have been able to ponder it over night...

1. Jack's dad was probably dead in the future, he just made references to him b/c of his dad's clout (or the clout he once had) at the hospital. His father used to be chief of surgery and now there is a new guy in charge.

2. Perhaps there is something with time going on. Desmond had some weird flashbacks where he is in the future/past or something. When Jack tells kate, "we've gotta go back" maybe he is referring to back in time to change something that happened on the island. Perhaps making that phone call to the boat.

3. Not Penny's boat. Then who? The other others? Dharma initiative folks?

4. Sounds to me like Ben and what's left of the others will join the Losties to fight off whoever is on that boat.

5. Any vision we see on the island, we can chalk up to the "smoke monster". Walt last night was a smoke vision. They have said the smoke monster brings up visions from people's past. However, we still don't know what the smoke is exactly and where it comes from.

6. Penny's father had something to do with the race that Desmond was on. Whitmore industries if I remember. He must have some connection with the island, or what is going on at the island. Penny was able to use a station somewhere to make contact with the island. She discovered her dad's secret room or soemthing.

7. The newspaper clipping says the body of J....antham. I think it is JACOB.

Whidmore was the construction company that did all of the construction on the island.

Desmond was in the sailing race to prove himself to Penny's dad.

I think Ben sees future flashes exactly like desmond. This is why he is trying to tell Jack not to make the phone call. He knows his people will die and that Jack will be miserable when he gets off the island.

something to think about: in the future, everybody recognized Jack as the hero that save the girl from the car accident. Nobody recognized him as the plane survivor that led half the plane to safety over 4 months on a previously undiscovered island. Don't you think he would be quasi-famous at this point? Especially since they were supposed to be dead. Then again, there could have been some sort of cover-up involved.
