Sunny Day Real Estate was absolutely fantastic last night. soooooo glad I drove down for that. they all seemed legitimately into the entire set and just playing 100% in every song. They seemed really humble and appreciative of the response they've gotten on this reunion tour.

TITUS ANDRONICUS tomorrow at 506

I can't go, but if you haven't seen them, you should go. They fucking rule.

Also, MONOTONIX at the Pour House on the 15th. I think Ami might jump off the balcony this time.

its not that small, but its also not a very good venue. I'd love to see them again, but not sure that I'm going to be back up in Raleigh that weekend.

Not small at all...holds something like 1200-1500. Sound isn't great.

Is that damn elevated dance floor still in there? The last time I was there was Pixies in '05.

Just saw Florence and the Machine in NYC last night. It was their first show on US soil.

Her voice is

Lead singer has a ton of energy and was really fun to watch.

If you like the album then definately check them out

I will be there.

Where is a cool place to drink within walking distance of Cat's Cradle? Preferably they will have TVs with the NFL games on . . .

^Tyler's Taproom is right down the street from the Cradle, and they have an excellent beer selection, good food and plenty of TVs.

No place that is cool is going to have NFL games on TV.

With that said, OCSC is cool. It's about a block down Main Street from CC.

Seriously? I'm pretty sure I've seen an NFL game on at the Times before, but regardless that's a pretty elitist/hipster-douchebag thing to say.

haha its ok i was expecting some backlash either from

1. I'm going to see Say Anything
2. I'm not hip enough to know the area around Cat's Cradle
3. I love the NFL

The Cat's Cradle has a back patio, an (albeit expensive) beer bar, and a big TV that is usually tuned to whatever sporting event is a big deal that night. I usually make a trip to Cat's Cradle a one-stop affair.

I've gotten a little overheated/claustrophobic ... it happens ... at some packed shows and ducked out for a second and blankly stared at that big projection screen.

((To argue, I work at Slim's and it will be turned to an NFL game on Sunday or Monday if one is on. Slim's counts as a cool bar. For Halloween, my buddy made a compilation DVD of horror movie kills to put on and some very cool people who would very much appreciate TROLL and HALLOWEEN 3 and face-melting asked for it to be switched back over to baseball.))

i have definitely watched an NFL game at the cradle before. but their beer is expensive, and cash only. Tyler's will probably have it on

I've been to the Cradle now maybe 4 times but I've never been out on the patio

yea I don't feel like paying cash and would rather go to somewhere more bar like before i head over

plus the doors open at like 7 or something i intend on starting drinking waaay earlier

once i get to the show i won't be watching tv anymore
