TOB will still be here next year. DEAL WITH IT.

I mean really, he's only been here 5 years. We had a new QB and lost pretty much all our starting receivers and had our Dline depleted with injuries to the point we started a walk on and we still beat UNC. He is getting one more year. Who do you think we are going to get?

well we are losing jay smith, bryan and graham this year plus cole and sweezy

are complete lack of talent this year has to be blamed on the coach

To understand the fire TOB crowd you have to realize that in their eyes NCSU is an attractive job that will pull in Bill Cowher as HC, Chuck as DC, Peterson as OC, and Sean Miller as special teams coordinator just for fucking fun.

You are correct though. TOB will be our coach this time next year barring some ridiculous bed shutting. And I will fully support a coaching search then. For now just let them assume we can do better than Tom.

^exactly. they seriously think the perennial whipping boy of the acc barely one game better than duke school will be able to land nick saban suddenly
......

everybody just settledown. our receivers and OL are going to mature and we are going to have a beastly running game next year when MOOOOOO comes back and washington and creecy are backing him up on other downs.

the defense really isn't going to lose like the entire front 4 or something again either. terrell manning and david amerson on the table = something good will happen there. 2012 should be special.

if its NOT special. then in my book we ALL have something to legitimately complain about. it shouldn't take >5 years to establish your dynasty, i perfectly agree....

but come on. a 9 win season last year against a #1 big east school and 1..2..3..4.....FIVE straight wins over UNC have bought him at least 6 years bro. if you think otherwise you are just a moron or delusional.

^i'll go with this. his qb has a year of starting under his belt, and one more year of eligibility. all things considered, next year would be a better time to transition if he has another poor season.

problem wiht this is you won't be able to fire him after he wins 7 games and goes to a bowl next year because it will be "look what tob gave us, 8 win program" then the bottom will fall out and we will win 3-5 games in 2013 and be right back in the same position talking about how a new qb and injuries caused us to be bad.

^ then so be it. you want to fire the coach now lets say. we land richrod, and have 1 year left with glennon.

we are basically at best scenario at 'UVA's level in 2013. AT BEST CASE.

believe me. if TOB doesn't get at least 2 atlantic road wins next year. i'm ready to move on as well. mark it down. he's got to beat clemson and maryland to make me a happy camper. it's going to be a sour offseason no joke. we lost a freakin heisman contender. i would have rather had 1 decent year than a 'possibility' of 2012 being OK

they better damn well. especially after all the talk about TOB being a specialist in OL's. if we dont we have another 6-6, 7-5 at best coming next year and it's over here for TOB.

the o line won't get better. they're all upperclassmen now save one. also, when this season is over we're likely looking at four out of five years with seven losses. this is why he doesn't deserve to come back.

as far as thinking we can do better than o'brien, my opinion is that we now have an athletic director who knows how to appropriately conduct the search unlike the bumbling fuck who failed to interview bud foster and paul johnson last time around, so we can certainly improve on o'brien.

^no exactly. i think 0-15 actually dude.

yeh deservedly. if he doesn't get 2 next year minimum i'm done with it as well. i just can't pull the trigger literally 10 games after a dominating citrus bowl victory and whipping the shit out of UNC.

<rant>
god fucking damnit. if we could only have a fucking good defense the same year as a good offense we might actually have a holy fucking shot at an ACC title. nope. still just perrenial whipping boys of the acc. laughing stock as always in at least a category or 2.
and FUCK. ALWAYS THE LETDOWN AFTER UNC. ALLLLWWAAAYYSS. DOESNT MATTER THE BLOODY FUCKING COACH. THIS SCHOOL WILL NEVER EVER EVER EVER WIN A GAME AFTER BEATING THOSE SHIT FUCKS IN CHAPEL HILL

"Who would want to coach here?" is a lame excuse for keeping TOB around for another year. Is the who would want to coach here factor going to change at the end of next year, the year after that, or the year after that? He's got to be replaced at some point. Sure, give TOB another year and I'm sure the NCSU coaching gig will look all the more attractive.

There are other reasons for keeping TOB for one more year, but who would want to coach here isn't one of them. I mean you could gamble on a random hobo off the street being the new coach next year and we couldn't do worse in division road games.

And they manhandled 5 star athletes last week. They were pathetic today but saying they won't get better next year because they had a bad weekend is absurd. But so is the conversation about firing TOB this year so I guess it's just par for the coarse.

What if we get richrod? We would win eleventy matches I bet.

i can't believe that NO ROAD WINS IN OUR DIVISION isn't enough of an indicator for some folks. in 15 tries, not a single win? Not one?

i'm not saying burn him at the stake, but if he were to go what would be the big loss? Especially now that RW is gone.

no that was the right move. those who want to keep him, is it based solely on the fact that we went 9-4 last year and you're willing to forgive how shitty we are this year because you think we'll be great next year? because we're still going to run those halfback draws up the middle out of the shotgun, our cb's will still play ten yards off the line of scrimmage and the d will give up big gains across the middle, and we'll still have what the fuck losses like bc today, ecu and maryland last year, and duke two years ago.

As much as I am sick of watching NC State's boring, underperforming teams with TOB, he will get at least next year due to all of the injuries this year and since Glennon will be a senior in 2012. Sucks that we will be starting over again after we finish '12 at 4-8 or maybe 5-7, but whatever. NC State is a joke and there are no signs that it is going to change.

^^ remember we didn't win 1 of those until about 30 games into the series. gotta remember we were basically like wofford at that point until after the 40's

but yeh. i'd be ok with evening it out at 63-63-6 in 2042.

the real record:
Record in ACC (1953–2010): North Carolina: 32; NC State: 26

as much as i wanted to see Archer gone, we've played really good defense last 3-4 games (FSU was a buzz saw), but i think its becoming clear that Bible is the problem.

We've actually had the OL intact for most of the year, I know that technically they are still young, the WR's actually showed they can catch, we've been able to run sporadically, and Glennon is definitely going to be good, he's got the tools for sure. But our offensive sets just look stupid to me. I don't understand how you keep calling bubble screens and bubble screens. No exaggeration, but i have yet to see one work in the last 5 years, they're ok for getting max about 5-6 yards, but a lot of times, they are no gain or lose yards if the other WR doesn't get the block.

Look at what Clemson did with a new coordinator? yea yea they have Watkins, but we have really fast guys too, i just don't think we know how to get them the ball in space. we're regressing when we should be doing more complicated stuff on Offense.
