Man! I wish Philip Rivers could have had the surrounding cast that Boyd has. He would have thrown 8 touchdowns in the Orange Bowl.

These four BCS games were all unreal this year. Nice way to have this format go out.

I hope monday lives up to the standard set now.

"I don't even know why I am responding to your troll ass. You are too stupid to realize the subtle differences, but Auburn runs an option offense that is more of a Wing T than a triple option. Yes there are similarities, but they are not one and the same. Go back to drawing up basketball plays and complaining about Gottfried not keeping CJL from going pro last year. Leave the football talk to real people."

Who said they are the same? They are completely different BUT THEY ARE BOTH TRIPLE OPTION.

I understand the debate and cause for confusion but do you even know what triple option means? or do you just assume its having the fullback burst up the middle from a wishbone option? Yes Auburn is spread but that doesn't mean you can't run triple option out of a spread.

Its not THEE (old school) triple option but there are 3 options in most of what auburn runs so it is a triple option run offense. They have the zone read with the first two options, sometimes they have a guy coming around from the end and sometimes they have the option to pass

Quote :
"Auburn's triple-option offense, led by speed-freak quarterback Nick Marshall, finished the season with the nation's top-ranked rushing attack, averaging an astonishing 335.7 rushing yards per game. "

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1909120-auburn-vs-fsu-ranking-top-playmakers-in-bcs-national-championship-game

In this video from their last game you can see the triple option

at :10 where the zone read end around and the the qb fumbled on the 3rd option.

At :28 you can see the triple option again with 2 fakes that trick the cameraman and then the qb keeps it and throws the td last minute.

At 2:30 they fake the jet sweep and give it to mason on the 2nd option up the middle. 3rd option was marshall keeper that they scored on earlier.

Did any angry Alabama fans point out how they had two ineligible receivers down field on that play?

Not sure if that throw was actually a designed option. Usually plays like that have the receiver stand at the line of scrimmage near the sideline

Dear GoDaddy, no one except Ball St & Ark St fans cares about your shitty bowl. How about scheduling your shitty bowl before all the other BCS bowls?

If he falls one spot short of his projected pick there will be a firestorm. Should be fun to watch.

When you're not projected to go in the top 2 rounds, you don't get a projected pick # tagged to you

I have no clue what his projection is, but as SEC defensive POY I'd assume it's fairly high.

Regardless. Good for him. Good for his teammates and coaches supporting him and letting him come out on his own too.

i heard on the radio that mcshay had him as a 4th rounder. then 5 minutes later the commentators said he was a 2nd/possible 1st rounder.

I don't even understand the point of that. Why should coaches be able to text something to a recruit that can't be traced?

NCAA needs to come to grips that technology has made their antiquated rules on contacting recruits completely moot & arcane

No discussion about the proposed rule change to limit up-tempo offenses?

The proposed change would prohibit teams from snapping the ball until 29 seconds is on the 40 second play clock.. this allows defensive players to sub out...

During the last 2 minutes of each half, teams can snap it as fast as they want

^^ I think that's fair at this level of football, especially when you factor in the way team have to get play calls in college.

Stupid rule.

So you have a clock to make the game quicker...but it doesn't count until time has elapsed off the clock.

There will be lots of bitching about it...I dont like it.

They said the proposal has already passed but will go to a committee next week. They said this "committee" rarely denies anything so they expect it to pass.

Saban and Bilemma are supporters of the change (go figure)

But other coaches (Gundy, Kingsbury, etc...) have taken to twitter to speak out against it

Haha, didn't realize that was the reason until now. At least he was arguing over something important.
