The GOP (and trump specifically) tried to do that from day one too but it makes me uncomfortable. I absolutely 100% believe that Russia did a lot to undermine Clinton but the fact remains a better candidate and better message wins regardless.. 12/2/2016 7:44:19 AM |

^^ I would argue that the link you provided does a lot to confirm that Russia did intentionally try to undermine the election process. The leap, though not entirely crazy by any stretch, is that they did so to help Trump.
I don't think that is crazy at all. No less crazy than some other conspiracies many people jumped on with regards to Clinton. What I do think is crazy is those who believe Trump was CONTROLLED by the Russians.

I agree that it's possible and likely true that they helped Trump win in some way. When one side wants to improve relations and the other is threatening cyber war, what are you gonna do?
The way Terd summarized the article made it seem like Russia was literally saying "We were helping Trump and Ukraine tried to stop us." That's all I had a problem with.

The world's super powers attempt to influence the elections of other countries ALL THE TIME. That's not conspiratorial, that's a historical record. Off the top of my head, I can think of numerous countries in Latin America ALONE that the US has interfered with during their democratic elections. The US also helped overthrow other democratically elected governments.
Anyway, at the end of the day, it doesn't really matter, because we still went to the polls and voted for the cocksucker, so it's still our problem to deal with. 12/2/2016 2:16:56 PM |

No, people had their registrations changed without their consent. Election fraud, not voter fraud. It happened in many different states.

^ I'll quote a paragraph from that article then break it down as to how Trump supporters understood the points.
Quote : | "She detailed plans to help coal miners and steel workers. She had decades of ideas to help parents, particularly working moms, and their children. She had plans to help young men who were getting out of prison and old men who were getting into new careers. She talked about the dignity of manufacturing jobs, the promise of clean-energy jobs, and the Obama administration’s record of creating private-sector jobs for a record-breaking number of consecutive months." |
"She detailed plans to help coal miners" > I won't need help because Trump isn't going to try to shut down the coal industry
"She had decades of ideas to help parents, particularly working moms, and their children" > We need to get those people off welfare, especially the children since welfare is generational
"She had plans to help young men who were getting out of prison" > Getting out? Why? Leave them there.
"And old men who were getting into new careers" > Why should they need new careers when Trump is going to let them keep their current jobs
"She talked about the promise of clean-energy jobs" > Clean energy is a racket, Hannity told me so. Every green company we've subsidized has folded.
"Obama administration’s record of creating private-sector jobs for a record-breaking number of consecutive months" > The unemployment rate is a lie - it's only low because so many people are dropping off the roles and giving up looking for work. Hannity told me so.

Of course there is a part of the population that what you (^) said is 100% accurate for but those people would always go Trump anyway.
A tiny sliver of me actually hopes the fools that believe Trump gives a fuck about them actually become worse off once the Ryan-show strips them of their social security net and privatizes Medicare... but I don't actually want that because just because they are ignorant doesn't mean they should suffer. 12/6/2016 7:34:26 AM |

She talked about those things plenty, she just wasn't talking to the right people. Look, a ton of factors contributed to Hillary's loss, and based on the margins which she lost the tipping point states (MI/WI/PA) by, changing any of them could have flipped the outcome. Tactical decisions about where to campaign, a strategic assumption that Republican voters gave a fuck about Trump being an abhorrent piece of shit, fake news, Comey's letter, Bernie's smears, racism, sexism, etc..... All of it mattered and all of it could have ultimately decided the election for Trump.
However, now that the results are in, one thing that we know for a fact was not factor is that Hillary wasn't progressive or populist enough,
Fact: She ran on the most progressive platform of any Presidential general election candidate in history. Yes, even more than Obama, much more actually. Exit polling showed ~20% of the electorate wanted a President more liberal than Obama. Now, while exit polling isn't any more reliable than other kinds of polling (read, not very), it's certainly not off by 30%.
Fact: Populist Democrat candidates all lost, and by larger margins than Hillary in their respective states. Feingold and McGinty both got smashed. All but one (I think) of the Bernie Approved™ candidates lost, and lost big.
Fact: All the progressive ballot initiatives outside of California that didn't involve legal dope lost. Single payer in Colorado lost by 60%!!!!, yet that's supposed to be a winning issue at the national level? Come on.
There are some lessons to be learned from this election, although most of the factors contributing to Hillary's loss were unique to either her or her opponent, so I don't think it's terribly instructive to focus on them. What Democrats can't do is take away the wrong lessons from this election, or 2020 will make Reagan/Mondale look like a nailbiter.

http://thewolfweb.com/message_topic.aspx?topic=648202
And single payer lost in Colorado because it was a poor iteration, our Democratic governor and senator were against it, and it was heavily lobbied against. Also, many people are wary of state run single payer but would vote for federal single payer. It is risky for a single state to attempt.

One thing I think they need to do is let more candidates run in the primaries after Iowa. After Iowa it was down to Sanders and Clinton. No one else really got a chance to gain any real momentum. The Republicans did it right and let their top candidates go at it for a while until Trump was left standing.12/6/2016 7:15:25 PM |

The way you hacks/SJWs view the world through your lens of identity politics/cultural Marxism is just a bad joke at this point.
When someone says "everyday working Americans" they aren't saying "white people". They are saying "stop forcing me to pay too much for insurance I don't need and can't use". You people are so out of touch it is ridiculous. Americans outside of your bubble don't care about racial pandering they care about opportunity.
