LOL!! Now that would be freaking hilarious sight.

His wingspan is 7'9"

reading fail

http://thehoopdoctors.com/online2/2012/04/beejay-anya-has-the-largest-wingspan-in-hoops-history/

I misread the part where they said he had a 9'3" reach.

My point still stands, just a bit less effectively.

How can your reach be longer than your wing span? How is that measured?

I think you just stand flat-footed and reach straight up as high as you can and measure to the fingertips. So basically he can probably nick the net with his fingertips while standing flat-footed.

Wing span is left hand fingertips to right hand fingertips with your arms fully stretched out to the sides. Reach would be stretching your arms straight up to see how high you can reach.

Wingspan... only without wings...

Also, a little under three weeks until the early signing period. Let's get Cat & Kyle locked up or locked down.

Still funny though. They must have given him some looks like, "You're wearing that???"

Of course, Donte Page-Moss' scout profile picture was him in an NC State letterman jacket, and we know how that turned out. I'm just glad that we are on the radar with these high profile guys. They wouldn't have given us a second thought 2 or 3 years ago.

From his twitter feed it looks like the visit went really well for Anya. He seems to have started some kind of flirty relationship with a waitress he met somewhere in town. I think it's great for us that he had our visit after Indiana.

Also, people are commenting on packpride that we're out for Meeks. Too bad, but I didn't see us getting him anyways.

^ ^ lol, exactly.

This school recruits itself. People who used to hide behind the "herb is a good recruiter, its hard to get anybody when they have to play duke/unc!" now are pretending they never created that argument

I like Anya and Woodson both better than Meeks anyway. If we land one or both of them, I'll be thrilled.

Of the 3 I'd rather have Anya, but Woodson isn't far behind. We've got scorers, Anya's length on defense could be a big plus. Feel like Meeks would be more in the Reggie Johnson type mold.

Agreed. We were beaten by UNC and Kansas last year because of their shot-blocking big men. No shocker that the teams that played in the championship had the 2 best shot-blockers in college basketball. It makes things a hell of a lot easier when you make the other team scared to slash to the hoop.

Anya would be like John Henson, but with more girth to box guys out.

He would sorta be in the mold of a Dirk nowitzki , except wider and shorter and more defensive minded without the shooting/scoring ability.

So, would yall take Woodson and Anya if it meant that Randle definitely wouldn't come here? I sure as shit would. Of course, I'm mentally preparing myself for a whiff on all three, just in case.

^^We'd take Woodson and Anya if they wanted to come, can't imagine Gott turning either away.

The Randle-sweepstakes is a little too hard to predict to bank on it. We need a solid season and a great OV to win him over. I think we're behind both Texas and Florida at this point, but could see UK being out of it relatively soon if they're not already out of it.

I don't think the question is whether or not we would take Woodson or Anya...but more along the lines of, "if one commits, does the other drop us?"

They're both similar players that play the same position. I doubt either guy is looking to split time for the next 4 years.

Well Anya is going to be in a time-share here or Indiana. So he must be pretty comfortable having to earn his spot.

And I'm not even sure how Indiana has a spot for Anya anymore after taking Williams, they're already having to bank on someone losing a scholarship or transferring at this point and still recruiting Anya.

So Woodson said he was gonna decide this week. And Anya is set to decide between us and IU in "the coming weeks." Sounds like we'll know a lot more here in a few weeks. It sounds like we're in good position with these two. It would be tough to miss out on both.

After talking to coach Mark Gottfried and the coaches, Anya added: “Their system would fit me so well. A lot how I could I do a lot of damage in their offense and how I fit in perfectly with what they need. I’m the missing piece for their national championship run.

“It made me feel really good. I just need to go back and discuss the stuff with my parents.”"

Sounds an awful lot like Anya is favoring us.

I don't think landing Anya and Woodson would hurt us with Randle. They aren't going to take minutes from Randle. Having both of them in the fold would free us up to play Randle anywhere he (and we) like(s). He'd be on a team stacked with talent, one and done, and then we'd still have Anya/Woodson to be studs in the post for a couple more years.

I think it's a complete pipedream for that to happen, but it wouldn't be a shock with the way things have been going in our recruiting. Right now I'm just hoping we can land one or both between Anya and Woodson. I'm holding off all hopes of Randle until it gets closer to the Spring.

I don't think so either, I was just asking the hypothetical question to the fans: "if getting both Anya and Woodson meant we don't get Randle, would you take them?". I think it's possible we could get all three. I also think it's possible that we don't get any, although I think it's more likely that we get at least one.

This. But from interviews and articles I've read it sounds like we're in good position to land one of Anya and Woodson, if not both. Fingers crossed.
