I dunno how it will work in the dead of summer, but so far, this SPF mineral powder stuff is the bomb:
http://www.sephora.com/instant-mineral-powder-spf-45-P235908
Also, if you don't care about style or security, the nylon Victoria from D/B is my favorite everyday bag:
http://www.dooney.com/OA_HTML/ibeCCtpSctDspRte.jsp?section=44584
My previous one was canvas and got dingy pretty quick, but it was so functional I carried it forever. So this nylon business is the best.
Now...what kinda cigars do y'all smoke? I need to get something special for a friend, and I know nothing about cigars...except that wine, wood-tipped Black & Milds are delicious. Are there lady cigars? 4/28/2013 11:11:23 PM |

I just got a pair of minetonka mocs from the gap. I love them.
Also, just went in to pick out my new frames for my eye appointment on Friday. Cute tortishell Kate spade with a green back ground. Thinking about transition lenses. 4/30/2013 11:40:04 AM |

Bridget have you tried the djarum black 'cigars'? are they the same as the cigarettes?
I'm gonna order some shoes, but they are mostly not cool. hiking boots and a boring black pair of new balances. and I finally got around to ordering some sandals I posted in here last year, since the price went from $150 to $25.
I saw something fun on their site the other day, you can order custom colored NB, though it looks like it costs around $50 more than the plain ones. you can design them online and save the files, I made a couple that look like a rainbow threw up while I was bored the other day. I might get them as a reward for meeting some fitness goals or something, though. Cute crap motivates me.
oh yeah- should i order my hiking boots a half size larger than running shoes? I looked back through my old worn-out shoes and couldn't really establish a pattern. The boots I want are sold out in my size, and exchanging shit is difficult/expensive. Returning them is free though... guess i'll try it.

ok yall, i need to pick a bridesmaid dress from this line in the color aubergine for a wedding in the fall. tell me which ones you like best. i like fairly plain things and i don't think i look good in long dresses but i'm semi-open to it if it happens to be a good fit. i'm trying to decide which i like best and then see what i can find in stores around here.

my issue is that the store didn't have both sizes to do that with. just the larger size. for both of the pairs of shoes i wanted. since it's free returns I just ordered them, but I'll be pissed if they are too big, since I'll have to drive to the US another day to pick up the new ones, after ordering from a different store apparently (without free shipping!). Plus having the things clogging up my credit card statement and not on my feet, helping my plantar fasciitis go away. bleh.

elise - i like the one you posted OK. i'm not sure about how baggy it is in front? it may look better on than i think. erica - i definitely like that last one you posted. i was unsure about a dress with any embellishments but those flowers aren't too overhwhelming. i like the 3rd one you posted also. not so sure if that ruffle on the neck would look good on me though. 5/1/2013 8:12:58 AM |

i absolutely LOVE wearing heels....3-4" heels...
however...I rarely wear them for more than a few hours at a time...and rarely wear them more than 3-4 times a month...
i know girls who wear them all the time and they have some busted up feet due to most of those problems listed 5/1/2013 9:17:33 AM |

Since i'm 5'10, I very rarely wear heels over 2 inches, partially because my husband complains when I wear the few pairs I have. Seeing a woman taller than I am is so rare that I literally stop slouching and stooping over if I see one, hahaha. I can't imagine wanting to tower over people even more on a regular basis. 5/1/2013 10:43:22 AM |

It claims high heels lower the arches of your foot over time. I guess I need to wear heels more.
I think I'm going to give up on finding flats I can wear on the regular and just wear tennis shoes to work (1/2 miles walk each way to the building) and buy a cheap pair of grey or nude flats for being a bridesmaid (outdoor wedding, so I'm not getting heels). 5/1/2013 10:24:56 PM |

Apparently, I lost like five pounds overnight, and now none of my jeans fit. The only pair that's not hanging off me is 14 years old. And they look ridiculous, which breaks my heart because they are my favorite jeans. My body is very sad and saggy now, and it only looks remotely normal in skirts. And this weather is totally screwing me. WTF, it's May. 5/2/2013 11:25:34 AM |

I've lost a decent bit of weight and I too am a little saggy in places. I only bought two new pairs of jeans and this cold weather is fucking with me. I've been wearing a lot of leggings with summer dresses and cardigans. 5/2/2013 11:45:05 AM |

Yes! So glad you feel me. I just bought a new suit, and I can't afford to buy any more new clothes. Plus, when I'm forced to buy clothes, I just get annoyed and settle for something bad--like the bra I'm wearing right now. 5/2/2013 11:57:01 AM |

All the places I've tried didn't have a good selection of Merrells. I guess I could try ordering online, and I'm going to try comfortable soles in North Hills today. I'm curious about the Kalso earth stuff and their site says they have it. 5/3/2013 11:17:58 AM |

There is a Merrell store in Smithfield.
Also, I'm gonna repeat myself here I'm sure but I love Eddie Bauer jeans. My mother in law bought me a new pair today. 5/3/2013 1:29:56 PM |
BridgetSPK #1 Sir Purr Fan 31378 Posts user info edit post |
I've read good stuff about the Eddie Bauer jeans! I also just tried the Paige jeans I was certain I'd never be able to wear, and they fit comfortably. And they are as awesome as I hoped they'd be. Hidden Hills is where it's at, y'all:
http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/paige-denim-hidden-hills-bootcut-jeans-dream/3269815?origin=related-3269815-0-1-2-2-Rich%20Relevence
So it looks like everybody has relaxed their sizing without bothering to change their size charts, which is frustrating because I've avoided shopping for clothes under the impression that the garments were way too small. 5/3/2013 8:03:58 PM |

it all depends on the cut....
most are sized by the waist...ie 28, 30, 32...
I usually wear 30/31 but I have some 32s that I bought before I stopped losing weight...
you are welcome to try some to see if they work for you so you'll have an idea of what to look for 5/3/2013 9:13:55 PM |

I am having zero luck on the gray hair search. I think I will just cover it up again. In other news, while I'm talking to myself I think I will post a picture of the Coach boston bag that I am in fucking love with. It is a nice big weekender and I visited it in the Coach store today and it is more fabulous in person than on the website, and I was already obsessed with it on the website.

love love love my Paige jeans. they're my absolute fave and i can always find them at Nordstrom Rack and even Marshalls/TJ Maxx.
i also recently bought a pair of GAP jeans - they're the toothpick leggings style one so they're also ultra skinny but i love that they stop at the ankle so they're perfect for bumming around/running errands. super comfortable and fit very well. they have a little bit of stretch but not too much that they get baggy. definitely recommend!
me and a friend went to a TJ Maxx Runway store on Friday and i hit the jackpot - i found a gorgeous simple black Kate Spade dress (with a bell skirt) in my size, originally $360, marked down to $150. it's perfect to wear to work and also to go out in on the weekends. i also found a beautiful navy Vince Camuto dress marked down to $40. again, perfect for work but i can also wear it out on the weekends.
it's funny how my shopping has changed since starting a new job. before, i worked in an incredibly casual environment so when i would buy pieces, it would be casual for work that i could potentially dress up (lots of tanks and cardigans) but now that everything is business attire, i look for pieces that i can wear to work but then also dress down for the weekends. plus since i walk/bus/metro to work, i need items where i can move freely as i am commuting.5/5/2013 12:52:14 PM |
