So they finally fixed the bug where "update server list" actually cleared the server list and "refresh server list" updated the server list.


So how bout the bug where half the time when a round ends, before going to a new map i get punted out to the login screen with a message "GAMESPY: There was an error reading from the server".

B/c that shit is seriously annoying.


They need to completely overhaul the account and server browser system.

Too bad, I was actually looking forward to Euro Force.

I would like to say that for as... odd... as missiles' new behavior can be at times, I think I am fairly pleased with it. I've scored MANY more air-to-air kills than ever before, and the mobile AA (except the Tunguska - fuck the Tunguska) is just plain beastly now. It gives me tremendous delight to get in a mobile AA on Dragon Valley and stalk aircraft from hard-to-spot places. Fun, fun!

I still have at least a 10:1 K/D ratio with the planes. However today I was actually shot down by a missile from a guy that I was BEHIND. As in, he fired his missile, it locked onto the nearest heat sig (ME, right up his tailpipe) and BOOM...

Wow, OK, that's just crazy. Haven't seen anything quite that bad yet. Come to think of it, I think I've only had one "friendly fire" hit with a missile, whereas before I had more than I'd like to admit. I will say that the AA turrets on the Essex are actually worth a damn now, as I shot down 7 planes earlier with the stern turret.

I do kinda laugh to myself that the missiles are now like High Maneuverability Micro Missiles from Macross Plus... One key weakness which I have observed with them, though, is that they do not track well at all against extremely slow moving jets. Helicopters they work well against, but not at close range against jets in an almost-stall.

I (unlike others I suppose) had no problems hitting jets with either the Essex or the AA emplacements pre 1.2

I guess I'm one of the only ones that understood that shooting at a jet not moving directly away from me was a bad idea. Using the gun on the essex was money. Chew em up

Now I've been spamming the hell out of the AT Mines. I got booted off the [19th] server because they couldn't roll around in their armor at will on Mass Destruction. Randomly placed mines on roads are just as effective as strategically placed ones around flags.

ok so now all of a sudden my game is taking up to 15 minutes to connect to the account server

and while this is going on i cant do anything

no alt-tab

no ctrl-alt-del

nothing

i think it depends on which icon i click

because i have one that says play "bf 2 online now!"

and one that says "play battlefield 2"

and when i click the online icon i dont think it ever lets me do anything

when i click the regular one it takes forever but when it finally comes up it says "cannot connect to play it now server" if i choose to play online

and then none of the servers come up
