Thats just because UNC got waxed by USC earlier this year in every aspect of the game.
Basically, they got out hustled on both ends of the floor, which is about what happened when we lost at home to them.
This guy has had a few good seasons with some street ballers, but I dont think he would fit here. 4/14/2006 2:14:46 PM |

actually, I say UNC got out hustled in every part of the game, maybe he's just the guy we need. At least our fans would like it more, even if we sucked...at least we're trying.
But i think its a long shot, and I dont think he's looking to leave usc. 4/14/2006 2:18:40 PM |

I think we should go down to Texas and look again and I am thinking more in the Lubbock neck of woods...and no I don't want Bobby...I want his son PAT!!! That boy has done nothing but live and breathe basketball since the day he was born and lets not forget that Coach K was also under Bobby's wing for a little bit! I think Pat in a young coach who needs a place to start his own legacy! His name sure would help with recruiting and plus I would just love to see what he can do! on my way home from visiting a girl in pittsburgh, I had the same flight as ben mccauley and I was talking to him in the airport and it sounds as though they really don't know any more than we do. He didn't seem too enthused about haith, but mentioned mike brea as a possibility. also, he said that the whole team loved herb and that he didn't really understand why fans hated him so much. I then asked about chris wright and he said that he came and played some scrimmage type games and that he's pretty nasty.
oh, and he was saying that Ced is indeed testing the waters, but that he doesnt' know if he'll go. He said that he's been showing a different game lately, though, and that he's been shooting the lights out as opposed to just playing the post position. 4/17/2006 9:02:52 AM |

^^that would be his biggest concern.
He cant play center in the NBA, he would have to be a PF. He will have to have some type of jumper if he wants to make it in the big leagues.
Thats not suprising. thanks for the tidbit. 4/17/2006 9:23:58 AM |

Ced can play center in the NBA. Its all about hot big you play. With Ced's wingspan and athletic ability, he easily plays as big as a 7-footer. 4/17/2006 9:30:13 AM |
Panthro All American 7333 Posts user info edit post |
He cannot play Center unless he bulks up big time.
Yeah, he's 7 feet tall, but his build is more like Garnett, who is a Power Forward.
He would get killed by Centers in the NBA 4/17/2006 9:38:13 AM |
jbrick83 All American 23447 Posts user info edit post |
Ced has more of a frame to bulk up than Kevin Garnett does. Kevin Garnett is 7-foot 220 while Cedric is 6'9 235. Big difference. And I only expect Cedric to get bigger. he's not going to get Ben Wallace big...but he'll get big enough. 4/17/2006 9:41:43 AM |
Panthro All American 7333 Posts user info edit post |
doesnt the fact that he is only 6'9 have any bearing on the likelyhood that he will play Center in the NBA?
YOU CANNOT PLAY CENTER IN THE NBA AT 6'9'' REGARDLESS OF YOUR WINGSPAN. 4/17/2006 10:01:25 AM |

^ben wallace? 4/17/2006 10:07:51 AM |
jbrick83 All American 23447 Posts user info edit post |
^^Wrong.
If Ced is 6'9" with a wingspan that is 3" longer than a 7' center...he will be just as effective guarding a 7 footer. Because he can reach just as high as the 7 footer to block a shot. He can probably jump just as high as that 7 footer too. And once he puts on 20 more pounds...then he will be able to bang with the 7 footers.
Reference Ben Wallace. He's big enough to bang, but more importantly, he's long and athletice enough to block and alter shots of other big men.

LOL.
Ben Wallace at Virgina Union pwnt Ced at NC State.
Ced averaged 6 boards a game this season, including all of our shitty ass weak ass games this season.
Ben maybe 6'9 but that bitch plays with so much energy and tenacity (unlike Ced), they are apples and oranges.
Because of this, Ced has to have an offensive game to be effective in the NBA, whereas Wallace doesnt.
Ced =/= Ben Wallace.

Would also like to add that there are plenty of PF's in the NBA who are long and athletic like Ced who can't consistently hit a jump shot. 4/17/2006 10:16:19 AM |

you look at the NBA these days....
to be a power forward, you have to have a consistent 12-15 foot jump shot.
Its no longer a luxury, its a requirement.
thats why his focus is in this area.....He knows this.
why dont you? 4/17/2006 10:20:01 AM |

^^ Rasheed actually plays more of a Center Role for the team, even though he steps out and hits threes.
They run the offense in the post through Rasheed, Ben is just there to clean the boards.
Rodman played the same role for the Bulls, and was 6'10....yet I dont think of the Worm as a Center.
People think of Big Ben as a center because of the way he cleans the glass, but in reality, he is just a very active Power Foward. 4/17/2006 10:23:20 AM |

Like Ben Wallace right?? And Ced's jumper is not that bad. He made his share of 15 footers this year (in relation to how many took at least). You act like he can't shoot worth a lick. By evidence of his free throw shooting, he has good touch/form. It would not be a stretch at all to say that if he worked on his jump shot a little extra that it would be pretty "consistent".4/17/2006 10:46:22 AM |
