2000

I can easily see giving away a 5 or 6 dollar game in the hopes of getting more people into the store and hooked on playing the old school games too. think of it as a loss leader.

my friends and I had a fucking blast playing wii sports (mostly tennis) for 4 straight hours the other night

I'm sure it'd get old at some point, though

cheap DVD or book...just do a search for "a" and sort by price.

Also, ritzcamera.com is doing the $20 off $50 and has plenty of Wii games, and slightly better fillers (batteries, headphones, etc.)

for Zelda buffs:

pretty much the last Zelda I played was Link to the Past (yeah, i know)

now, I've got myself a Wii (will be giving it to myself for Christmas) and Twilight Princess.

I have also picked up Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, and Wind Waker for Gamecube.

here's the question: Should I play through them in order, or does it even matter at all?

^strategy guide....worth it?

c'mon

haven't you heard of the internets. I'm pretty sure there's one where you can find this so-called 'strategy guide' for free (or the equivalent).

^^if you're looking for the strategy guide for TP, BB has the hardcover edition (w/ cloth map) for $10

I typically don't buy strategy guides (since you can find everything on the internet), but I splurged for this one

okay, so I see if I make a bunch of Miis that they start filling out the baseball roster in Wii sports. Kim Jong just caught a fly ball from Osama. Question is, if I add other people and they have their miis traveling, can they show up when I'm playing baseball too or will it just be my miis? totally unimportant, just curious.

I would return TP and play them in order, but it doesn't really matter (other than Ocarina before Majora.) I envy the next few months for you though. Those are all high, high quality games and there's nothing like playing them for the first time.

Quote :
"While Nintendo has added a steady stream of downloadable games to its Wii Virtual Console service every Monday since the system's November launch, the publisher has generally offered its legitimate classics with less renowned offerings. That won't be the case this coming Monday, as Nintendo is celebrating the Christmas holiday by releasing a quintet of high-profile retro games on the Virtual Console.

For its own part, Nintendo is releasing the original NES classic Super Mario Bros. for 500 Wii points ($5). Backing up the company's portly plumbers will be a pair of best sellers from the Super Nintendo era: Capcom's Street Fighter II: The World Warrior and Konami's Super Castlevania IV. Each of those games will sell for 800 Wii points ($8).

The final two games announced for release Christmas Day are pulled from non-Nintendo platforms. The Sega Genesis game ToeJam & Earl dances its funky way onto the Virtual Console, followed by the TurboGrafx-16 shoot-'em-up R-Type, both for 800 Wii points ($8). The R-Type price is notable since all previous TurboGrafx-16 games on the Virtual Console have sold for 600 Wii points ($6).

Finally, Nintendo also announced a pair of games that would be released for the Virtual Console the Monday after Christmas, New Year's Day. The publisher will start the new year by swinging for the fences with Baseball and fighting in the streets with Urban Champion. Both games debuted on the NES and will sell for 500 Wii points ($5).

Nintendo has said it will release new games for the Virtual Console service every Monday at 9 a.m. Pacific time. "

Yep no free VC games for Xmas.

^ I dunno, you can't be mad at them for trying to make money. But you think that after the Senior VP of Marketing, who's like some kind of fanboy hero now, drops info like "Christmas presents," it'd be better than something new to buy.

I should get my girlfriend that kind of Christmas present, ha. "Honey, you can take me out to dinner, Merry Christmas!"
