^why wouldn't the last one work for you? I like the one with the cool back the best, though.

Ok so right now I'm still at just having a photographer. I've found some venues that I'm interested in but they all seem too pricey. I'm wondering if EVERYTHING is going to seem too expensive to me or if I'll just grin and bear it.

Since I can't make up my mind on reception location, and am only now just ironing out ceremony location, I've decided to focus on what the wedding colors should be. Any ideas?

Generals about the wedding:
Fall Wedding
Saturday Afternoon Ceremony/Reception

Requirements for colors:
No light blues or anything that can fade into light blue (so basically, no blues or blu-ish lavendar)
Not a huge fan of cool earth tones, only warm earth tones (yellow, orange, red)
We aren't bold or loud people, but the families are.

Current ideas (all from Martha Stewart Weddings):

Marigold and Pewter

Fuschia and Taupe

Honey and Wheat

Pink and Brown

^Assumption is because Samwise16 has too much in the boobal region.

I would go with the Marigold and Pewter. We're also planning a fall wedding so we'll have to do some color scheming in the future and I like that combination. Pink and Brown isn't bad, just seems like a common combination.

I like the Honey and Wheat, but not sure if that's right for a fall wedding.

i also have a question

one of the things we want to do (instead of a guestbook) is have white paper with markers, pens, pencils, (and maybe a stamp-pad for little kids) and have the guests sign their name and whatever else they may want on said paper.
draw pictures, your favorite quote whatever...just sign it!

and then i want to take those pages and combine them with pictures from the ceremony and reception to make a book.

anyone know where i can get a book like that made (keep in mind the book will be made after the wedding....so i'm really just curious if this is possible)

Correct. I would need so strapped up it would not even be comfortable and worth having that dress... plus I'd be afraid to move so as to prevent one of the girls making an appearance

As I posted before you can make a book on blurb with scans. The footprints would probably scan fine. Check out kodaks books too.

I just got married last weekend and that's kind of what we did...

We got a scrap book and a bunch of inserts with colored pencils/markers/stickers for people to write whatever they wanted, with a space left in the middle because we had somebody take everybody's picture before the ceremony so it's going to be a picture guestbook

^Those are adorable! You should post the picture here

I AM SO STOKED! I just got 12 of the blue moroccan lanterns I was looking for on page 39. I ended up getting a quantity discount and a coupon discount to save $5 and I only spent $50. Since these are going to double as my bridesmaids "bouquets" they will carry down the aisle, I have spent less than $100 on centerpieces and bridesmaid bouquets!

I also spent around $60 on beautiful fabrics to make my napkins that will then be converted into a wedding quilt. I am so excited Now I need to find some neat ideas for DIY napkin rings. Any ideas?

For reference:

I think this is what I'm going to try to do, since I've already got a bajillion wine corks! Looks fairly simple, the only difficult thing would be drilling the hole through the cork!

oh boy...well, we made the rookie mistake of inviting too many people, with the idea that, going through each person (or couple or whatever), we could fairly accurately identify who would come and who wouldn't

we invited 300 people (350 if you include guests) with the idea being that about 200 would show up (including guests)...it's been all of a week since we sent out invitations and between response cards and the online RSVP on our website, we've got 75 yeses and only 10 noes...almost 15 of those yeses were pretty solid noes in our estimation

i don't suppose we're in trouble YET, but if this trend continues, we're gonna be in some poo as our ballroom only holds about 200 seated (though 250 is the max capacity)...we could put some tables out on the balcony/deck (and down where we're having the ceremony near the lake), but that assumes it won't rain and north carolina septembers are known for being wet

oh well

in other news, i'm almost done planning the honeymoon, which i care about more, anyway

my wedding invite list is going to be a bitch (if and when i ever get married)

my immediate family members (well okay a little bit extended, but like aunts, uncles and first cousins that i see regularly) are about 80 to 90 people alone

i just hope i marry someone with a super small family

^^^i was worried about the same. The chapel only held 120 ppl and we invited close to 180 (all of these numbers include wedding party of course). RSVP final count was 132. Wedding day actual attended was 106.

Don't sweat it too much. That was my biggest stressor, but it all turned out in the end.

Invitations for our wedding were really complicated. We had ours on Bald Head Island, at the Chapel that only seats 110. It was really difficult, and people that I wanted there couldnt be there because of the limited seating in the chapel.

I vowed not to get upset at anyone if I am not invited to a wedding, knowing how difficult it can be.

soooo, i need a group of people who would like to help me decide whether things looks right.

of course this wedding is about cody and i but it doesnt hurt to have an outside opinion.

however this includes stuff like save the dates, invitations, and pre-wedding portraits-meaning that i dont necessarily want to post it publicly on here....anyone wanna help a couple out?
