^The two concepts not being the same thing doesn't override the "fair and balanced" slogan... in fact, it reinforces the need to explicitly state both. Obviously this doesn't change the fact that Fox is neither of those things, but your statement was basically meaningless.

my point was, often you cannot be both "fair" and "balanced"
If you're just reporting the facts, like for a science story, "truth" is the most important factor, not fairness or balance. But for almost any science story, you can bet that Fox News brings "balance" to it by bringing in outliers or denialists to spew bullshit. They apply a false balance to almost all their stories, giving multiple sides of a story the same credit, even if opinion or consensus is 95:5 in one sides favor.

chopped up as in her say "dont trust the polls" then saying "you must obey the polls" plus completely ignoring the meaning behind polls such as the fact that many who oppose the healthcare plan do so cause they want a public option.

^x4 It was kind of funny when they compared the opinion talk people to the news people, and they were using the exact same ram/jam this bill through/down our throats talking point.
EarthDogg: The democratic party is going to get trounced in November if they ram this turkey bill through
EarthDogg: If the democrats ram through this turkey of a bill, their consequences in November will be staggering.
hooksaw: The Democrats in Congress are determined to ram this thing down our throats "one way or another." It's unforgivable.
EarthDogg: But ramming the democrat-only version
hooksaw: How low will the Democrats stoop to cram this stinking, rotten fucking bill down Americans' throats? 3/5/2010 1:16:11 AM |

I couldn't disagree with his views more but he puts together a solid show with solid delivery and stands by the consitution. I admire his passion and enjoy/respect his show even though I strongly disagree with him on most points
Just giving credit where credit is due which is rare in these days of political polarity
he'll call people communists, show what theyre doing then show how communists did the exact same thing unlike hannity who just blurts out stuff.
and this is just recently. during the acorn thing and the election he was running a bad show but hte last few months his show has evolved into something special

yeah, and apparently people who are convinced by his ridiculous logic, which basically boils down to Godwin's Law most of the time. And people who have never actually read the Constitution and just take it on faith he knows what he's talking about. And people who "admire the passion" of insane people (who are, after all, often passionate) and "respect" people for voicing their opinions, even if those people's opinions are are fanatical. 3/5/2010 8:43:33 PM |
