nabbed a fully built ESSS ARRR.

i love 240 owners. their general process:
1: spend lots of money for an SR, nice internals, headwork, gaskets, the whole 9 yards.
2: spend more money to have a shop check/deck/clean/assemble everything.
3: spend more time to get the thing running smoothly for a few thousand miles of break-in and driving.
4: OH SHIT I NEED CASH, SELL IT FOR CHEAP.

wordddd. thanks guys.

^^I mean there's a damn S14 with decent body and a well-running Q45 V8 in it for $5k somewhere in NC, and that price includes an extra (torn apart) engine

lol i don't even wanna share how much i'm spending just in parts on my engine...

I could probably have a (stock) sr20 per wheel...

oddly enough displacement would also be similar in that scenario.

400? this SR? couldn't have been much over 250, if that. the two of us plucked it out of the hatchback and waddled it over to a tire across the garage without much issue.

hahahahaha it's really not that bad. it's a black basecoat with a dark brown woodgrain hydrodip, so you can only see the wood knots in direct sunlight. in any other light, it just looks like a reeeally dark brown valve cover.

got a ragged out 68 ford pickup that I mothballed a while back running again to use on the farm and maybe put it back on the road. I bought it about 10 years ago and have put less than 5000 miles on it, but I have resurrected it off and on when I needed it. Its rough but at least it sounds good with a 390 and cherry bombs. One day I might run some pipe behind the mufflers.

last night a misfiring ignition coil on the audi motivated me to upgrade to the later 4-pin (built ICM) style 2.0t ignition coils. swapped the coilpack harness, bolted on some adapter plates, and popped in the coils. more reliable, hotter spark, etc. overall took about 1.5-2 hours (3 with several breaks). nice to not have to worry about a failing ICM any more.

I replaced the tension rods on my s13 with spl and bolt on brake ducts to match. Replaced outer tie rods and steering rack rubber cover things.

While I was in there saw how easy it would be to bolt on new lca's so I will be doing those in 2 weeks or so.

Also found a power drain and eliminated it

Just trying to get it nice enough to convince my dad to drive it

^sucks dude. My waterpump went on an engine a month after I put in timing belt and whole front end hand to come off

I've always replaced the pump with timing gear and vice versa reguardless if how good of shape it appeares to be in.

It's like replacing the clutch without doing the throwout bearing.... Why not while you are in there ??

it is functional. not trying to win any shows. just wanted to get it in there and working before spending too much time cleaning stuff up.

feels solid. only at ~10psi right now. just installed the boost controller a couple days ago and i haven't had much time to mess with it. will be at 20 soon.

Installed MCS (new stuff from Moton designer) 2-way remote dampers and 800lb linear springs with Ground Control weight jacks in the rear of my M3; still waiting on Vorshlag to send new camber plate ball joint inserts and top spring perches so I can install the fronts. Even with just the rear springs and dampers the car handles way differently though, so much less body roll

Soon to be installed:
Front dampers and 650lb linear springs
Stiffer front sway bar
Active Autowerke's Gen3 exhaust and track pipe (everything past the header to be replaced)

The car really feels like its starting to come together; 1st national AutoX event on March 15/16/17!

I have 3/4 of a 4 inch lift kit installed on my 2006 Jeep LJ. Only have the left front to install and the sway bar links to button up. Thankfully daylight savings time gives me a little extra tie after work now.

It is sitting all Cattywompus as Fuck right now lol.

Will have a set of stock Jeep TJ/LJ springs for sale soon....if anyone currently has a lift that they want to revert back to stock ride height

^ My M3 looked like that (to a lesser degree) last week when I had the new suspension in the rear and factory in the front, and accidentally slammed the rear while installing it

Finished installing the new springs, shocks, and sway bar on the front of the car last Friday night, then installed the new exhaust and did some other miscellaneous work Saturday.

Car is incredibly stiff now and handles beautifully! I still have to learn how to adjust everything (compression and rebound at all four corners, ride height all four corners, front sway bar, etc) but it's definitely a huge improvement over factory already. Had my first AutoX with the car set up this way Sunday and it was really fun.

Not sure if this pic will work or not since it's hosted on FB, but it's related

The beauty of working on a Jeep that you are lifting is that at no point did i look like a pair of chopped off legs stuck up under a car.....lol

finished installing the lift springs on the LJ this evening....Sits pretty level now, although another inch in the front would be nice....

Shocks and Sway bar links to come Saturday!

got the 68 running again.. been having spooky starting problems. in this particular case, cleaning battery cables/terminals and reseating everything fixed it ha (thank goodness). i need to just bite the bullet and rewire the thing, the guy i got the car from did a really half-assed job when he rebuilt the motor.

Recharged AC on the 2000 4Runner. Cold as ice. Took a full 18 oz can though. Hope it doesn't have a bad leak. This is the first time it has been refilled to my knowledge (I've had the truck for 4 years or so.

Anybody care to comment on the odds of this fill lasting year(s) rather than day(s)?

It was supposed to be 20-30 psi at 60 degrees outdoor temps. I got it to 25 psi with the full can. Shouldn't be too far off.
