I just heard on ESPN radio that players who committed academic infractions at the school are still NCAA eligible as they go through the student conduct procedures. So they could be found guilty of the cheating, be eligible to play in all of the games the whole season, and then get kicked out of school for violating the honor code.

^^^ there was some dude on the IC board who said he used to actually be a member of the academic board and he would not name a basketball player who had come before the board in the fall of some prior year. According to him, it takes 30-90 days to come to a ruling and then the student (athlete in this case) can ask for a review that will take another 30-90 days, which he did, and so he played the whole season, only to be kicked out of school after the season was over.
