Missed tackles and that INT in the end zone are what killed us. You come away with even 3 there and you aren't scrambling for a TD at the end of the game leading to that pick that sealed it.

gave up 34 points in the second half. started strong, then got outscored 41-13 to finish the game. gave up a kickoff return for a td, and an 80 yard run by the QB among other big plays. BLEW IT. this was not a back and forth, one team makes a run then then other team responds. if by momentum changed you mean start strong and then disappear, sure the "momentum changed". i saw they gave the game away.

That defensive performance is worrisome, though. And I'm not sure why we didn't call more screens/slants/etc. Too many low percentage pass plays today.

Russell Wilson played like Jacory Harris. Tryod Taylor played like Russell Wilson. VT RBs played like Ryan Williams.

We simply don't have enough quality depth on the defensive line to get penetration required to stop a good offense. We were rushing 4 at the end and VT had all day.

I'm so fucking pissed at the students at this game. Bunch of band wagon fucks who had no business being section 7, or hell even in the stadium. No less than 6 people within 2 rows of me (on my front/right side, didn't look left ever) were constantly either chatting with each other, texting, standing there all glum, texting, not fucking doing anything...or texting. Then they'd text some more. Above all they wouldn't watch the game or make noise when we were on defense. I did my best to scream my head off and get others to start yelling but it just wasn't enough.

I hope to god they reinstate Loyalty points next game.

If we could have the students who showed up for the Cincinnati game there every game we'd be set

^^^^ I couldn't agree more. It was a poor showing top to bottom today. The team blew it and the crowd sucked too. I don't care how it sounded on tv but the crowd just sucked! There was 7 minutes left in the 3rd before everyone decided to finally get back in their damn seat. Are you at the game to piss, get a chicken sandwich, or a coke with a cup of ice, or are you there to watch a fucking game. I have never been so pissed off at a crowd in my life. Word on the street is that for the last two games (VT and CIN) they did not use the Loyalty point system. As far as parents go, the word is that if you signed up for a guest ticket in the lottery your group will be picked.

Also, I say 'biggest game' just because so far its our biggest challenge and shows just what team we are.

This team is a lot better than last year, a lot better. Having said that though, they won't be as good as their potential unless they learn to put teams away. The UCF, Cincinatti and GT games all should've been much, much bigger wins. Today we were up 17-0 and let tons of opportunities go when we could've absolutely slammed the door. Then for whatever reason the defense reverted back to last season's form and Russell picked a TERRIBLE time to start forcing throws downfield that he normally doesn't.

Whats that saying...you're never as good as you think you are, and you're never as bad as you think are. Tough game today, VT just outplayed us. We did not play our best game. It seemed like we would dig ourselves a hole and wind up with 3rd and 9 or 10 yards to go and just end up airing it out deep. Sometimes it paid off, but several times it didn't. Gotta give VT credit...they played well and capitalized on our mistakes.

BC's definitely a game we should win...
I hope we get another shot at VT.

^I've heard that they did not use the point system for this past game (no idea if its true), but the guest ticket thing can't be true. People definitely requested guest tickets in the group I was in and we didn't get tickets in the lottery.

Along the same lines of what fenway what saying a few posts up...It seems like teams have really bounced back in the second half against us this year. I don't know if we've become more lax and conservative or if their D's are making the right adjustments at halftime. But UCF, Cincy, GT, and VT (although we did end up pulling away from GT) have all come out and played a lot better in the 2nd half against us.

As far as the rest of the season, our schedule doesn't look too daunting. FSU is a good team, and @ Clemson will be tough. But every game from here out is winnable IMO. Of course, that definitely doesn't mean we'll win them all...but there's no game on the remaining schedule where I dread the opponent.

^^^No, the points complaint was probably spurred by the disclaimer on the ticket website, which clearly said that due to demand you are not GUARANTEED a ticket if you have the highest amount of loyalty points available. It was still a weighted lottery as it has always been. I don't know why people thought this was strange, there were issues with seniors not getting tickets at each of the big games (all 2 or 3 of them) since I was a freshman in '06.
