I jumped on to see if the epack was live and did most of the Veteran's Tour Quest before I left for work.

Running around the tower, I got new sparrow, shader, ghost and also got the Hawkmoon from the green engram.

Also got a consumable that lets you auto level a character to level 25. If I ever want to ditch one of my 3 Hunters for a Titan or Warlock that will really help.

I appear to be stuck on the step that says reach Level 30. That is weird because I am Level 34.

played for about an hour before work. honestly that whole experience is what i expected from "next gen." i love that i can just wake up and play. no having to go to the store, wait for downloads, etc.

got monte carlo from the engram. are ps4 users getting engrams too? seems like it could just be for xbox players who missed out on the year 1 exclusives.

played the first mission and got the stormcaller subclass. kind of disappointed by how easy it is to get to level 40. looks like the real grind will be to fully upgrade gear. seems it takes a lot of xp to unlock the nodes.

40 was easy to get to. I saved 12 bounties from last week and turned them in today. I became level 38 after that.

I got hawkmoon from the engram instead of monte carlo oh boy.

I played for like 12 hours today or some shit? man my brain is fried. There truly is a lot to do in this game and I still barely scratched the surface.

my max light level with the most i can equip is around 246 but I run 240 or so because some of my items are garbage, but still high light

Screwed around last night with an old friend who just picked the game up, even some of the greens and blues dropping from the early Earth and Moon missions we did are better than the legendaries I had equipped

i'm on PS4 and got a monte carlo from the deceptive engram

and then, perhaps a full minute later, i decoded a legendary engram i had been holding on to until TTK and it too turned into monte carlo

Wow this new raid is legit the hardest team based video game experience I ever had. We got to Oryx after I'd say 9 hours and multiple raid groups but didn't get to beat him. I got my light to 296/297 I can't remember honestly. I did get a badass new shotgun and a chest piece from the first two bosses though. These fights require so much team work it's insane. If someone dies, you're pretty much screwed in every fight.

It is challenging and it was fun at time but it's TOO hard in my opinion. The people who are more casual or just not very good will never be able to finish the raid.

I think there's still a good bunch of us playing, though I don't think we've made a huge consolidated push to do much together since we're at different parts in progression.

I've reached the mid 270s in light gear, and have finished off most of the quest chains (I think). I'll be playing some low end stuff with a buddy tonight but I might be able to squeak through a Nightfall tomorrow, and help other places if some of you people are around.

Also I watched a video of a guy who says not to use multiple 3 of Coins at once to farm Exotic Engrams. The odds stack that each encounter will result in a engram by using the coins in successive encounters - not by using them all at once. He said he averaged 18-20 engrams per 100 encounters by rerunning Scourge of Winter final boss over 300 times.

^yeah i have read that as well. you do not need to burn all of them on one boss. i have also heard that it works about once every 5. so they were 13 strange coins iirc for 5, so you are basically paying 13 coins for a random exotic.

dropped usually at a higher light level than what you are. i have yet to get a 310 legendary drop though. i do have a 310 truth now bringing me up to 305 after raiding today

^ that final room with taken is HARD. bring your best gear and weapons. so many taken enemies.

ps after you get the black spindle at 310 - you can rebuy it at the blueprints for 300 making it easy fodder for leveling special weapons

looks like the key is knocking out the Blights (black orbs that spawn Taken)

There are 3 that spawn everytime you get the boss damage down by 1/3

Video on IGN suggests a Titan bubble under the boss while tethered by a Nightstalker hunter then DPS with swords until bubble expires

buy a telem for 5 weapon parts and some glimmer before you use the motes. never counted but it does not take a lot. maybe 20-25 if that. real nice. just did it this morning with hawkmoon (thanks xur!).

Play through the story missions and after each story mission you'll start to get bounties from the tower as you level up, doing these bounties will help you level up faster. I'm a level 40 but i'm always down to co-op and help out new players. PSN: Amuricanhero1

managed to get two more spindles today.

and honestly me and a buddy two-manned it and it seemed easier than 3 person running it. We literally sat in that little bubble room as soon as you come down, one guy focused on the boss with snipers/primary and the other two took out blights and adds ASAP
