magic number is 2 (need to win 2/AZ lose 2 or any combination) to clinch the #1 seed. fastest path is beat NYG and AZ lose to @PHI. going undefeated has always been a backburner concern to me, so, especially after yesterday, resting players should take priority.

there's another concerning stat floating around about the league MVP not winning the SB in the same year, so it's no wonder Cam is playing that whole thing down. glad they're going with team > individual stats.

Pretty awesome. You know, as much as I like KB, I wish we'd drafted a speed guy instead. This game is what our offense can look like for the next 3-4 years if we can get a guy that can catch those deep balls consistently.

another funny stat I forgot: the all time team record is currently 164-168-1. Winning out would put the team 1 game below .500 all time (regular season). last time the team was over .500 all time was 1998. of our rivals, ATL is 104 games under .500, NO is 85, and TB is 142. Carolina is also the only team in the division with an all time winning playoff record (though NO has the Katrina Ring and TB also has a SB)

That was an AMAZEBALLS pass from Newton (couple posts up) but it was an equally good grab by Dickson. Dickson is guy that's had a few drops this season, where I'm instantly like "aww fuck, OLSEN WOULDA MADE THAT CATCH!!!l" (I say this basically anytime our receivers drops a ball). But Dickson, along with Ginn and Funchess really showed up yesterday, more power to 'em. I really hope they continue the trend, it's fun to watch them have good to decent games and their success means Panther success.

If the Seahawks don't have a running game, they won't beat us in the playoffs. It's why I think Green Bay would still be our biggest obstacle to a Super Bowl. Arizona, as good as they are, don't run the ball well and Carson Palmer is not mobile at all. He'd have a rough day against our pass rush.

I don't know, Arizona's 4-WR sets worry me with the loss of Bene'. Every one of their receivers has big play ability. That being said, I feel confident against any opponent if we clinch home field advantage.

Something to keep an eye on...Since Bene is done for the year (sucks big time) the Panthers went out and signed another CB today and brought up a practice squad player. Word on the street is that Charles Tillman has a partially torn ACL and they are considering IR. Our defense is stout, but I'm worried about the CB depth now across from Norman...especially going into the playoffs.
