Regarding My Whore Chick’s injury/surgery - he apparently won’t even be playing until later this year (some have said not before Nov/Dec), assuming the NCAA doesn’t screw us over with his medical waiver. If they are legitimately going after someone like Middlebrooks (project/end of bench guy), hopefully that’s a sign they expect MHC to return. Have also read the staff is recruiting the portal as if 5 scholarships are open and if MHC does end up returning they could just pay his tuition through NIL or whatever.

Is middlebrooks really an end of bench guy?

He played 11 mpg as a soph and was mostly playing behind PJ Hall who is really good. I think, if he actually comes, we’d want 18+ mpg out of him. I didn’t watch a ton of clemson but I think he’s better than a project. He’s just stuck being Hall.

Burns is good. But unless something drastically changes with his conditioning and defense, we won’t be asking 30+ mpg out of him if we have proper depth. Middlebrooks would be a definite upgrade over Ebe.

If Middlebrooks is getting 18 mins for us next season then we are probably screwed lol. He’d be an upgrade over Ebe sure but that’s not saying a whole lot.

I’ll defer to you on Middlebrooks. Clemson’s whole team looked like the Dream Team when we played them. But I know that’s not how they looked all year.

It’s gonna be hard to attract a good big man with Burns on the roster and Dusan’s status up in the air. Getting a guy to sign up for basically 18 mpg max is tough if they’re any good.
