I think they match if its black. I don't think grey would work with navy and those shoes

Best nail polish base and top coats? Tried Essie first base and the polish came off in sheets after 2 days (twice, once with topcoat and once without). My officemate suggested butter london but I don't want to spend $40 for a top and base coat, plus she said the topcoat smells horrible (I HATE it when my nails smell nasty for a day after putting on nail polish, then peel the next day).

I'm about to give up on this nail polish crap. Trying to be a girl just pisses me off so far.

have you tried those stick on polish strips? i have used them before and they actually stayed on for a decent amount of time seeing as I was waiting tables at the time

Haven't tried the strips. I have an ok top coat (except for the smell lasting forever) but the base coat sucks and has been ripping apart the tips of my nails too.

I saw that too, but I will not spend money... even on that super cute black and white striped dress... or necklaces... or earrings...

Got the Orly bonder. Love it. While I was picking it up at Ulta they had some pur minerals makeup with nothing in it that I'm allergic to. They let me try a little bit of the foundation and I might go back to buy some tomorrow.

Got my August ipsy bag today! Not quite as happy with this one as my last bag but it was still worth well over 10 dollars. I managed to get two products I had already received, but they were products I loved so they will get used or passed on to mom or a friend.

ok forgot to post this before but i got twistbands in my birchbox the other month and they are the greatest things. ever.

i've never actually bought anything that came in my boxes but i had to get a bunch of those

http://www.birchbox.com/shop/twistband-custom-summer-nautical-collection

you can buy them from their company site, might be a couple bucks cheaper. i wish i had checked that out before i ordered, but, oh well.

just like a regular hair tie but they're strong and your hair doesn't get tangled up in them. i've tried pretty much every kind at the target/walmart/cvs/etc and i always break them or stretch them to the point of uselessness

they aren't supposed to leave kinks and creases in your hair either. they make headbands, too. i think i might try one.

I might try some of these. My hair is pretty thick so hopefully it'll work well. I'm tired of my bands being too tight or lose on m harm, pulling my hair out, and causing creases.

I wish they did better on fine hair. I have a lot of breakage around the front of my hair that I'm assuming is related to putting it up, but I haven't been able to find anything other than a regular hair band that will actually hold it up and not fall out every 10 minutes.

When I go to the gym, I use these really thick bands that I think are made of silicone. No fabric, just rubber/silicone. I have fine thin hair and these bands will hold it up without any slippage. I just have to be very precise about taking my hair down or I'll end up ripping a chunk out. But as long as I back my hair out of the ponytail in the reverse of putting it up, no problems.

so for the wedding tomorrow...

i decided to put my money in shoes and accessories instead of buying a new dress i probably won't get much wear out of...

i'm sticking with this dress...very simple...

i'm wearing these shoes...

and this necklace...the sparkles in the necklace look really good with the rhinestones in the shoes...the picture does it no justice

probably not a DivaBaby19 approved outfit...but i had to go with what i'm comfortable in

Any thoughts on this jacket from express?

http://www.express.com/catalog/product_detail.jsp?productId=4483019&categoryId=cat1004&commerceitemId=CI1334109490

I am not normally a leather/"leather" jacket person, nor do I own any white (in this case a chalky or almost ivory white) jackets. However, the contrast of the hood plus the material and color of the hood itself caught my eye yesterday. I've been looking for an extra casual jacket to add to my rotation since most of mine are some shade of grey or black or a mixture of grey and black currently.

I hesitated picking it up yesterday because it was definitely not something I would normally gravitate toward, but I do think it could work with my style. My other hesitation was that my wife usually really likes my style and the clothes I pick out, but she was only lukewarm on this jacket. She knows that I like kind of a casual vintage vibe but she thought the stitching detail on the elbows hearkened too much to something Michael Jackson would wear.

Just figured I'd get some outsiders' opinions.

Someone had asked about Primp for wedding day hair etc awhile back, and I had said I would review after (skwinkle? Maybe?)

Anywho. All of the hairdressers were super friendly, joking around right there with us, and very nice. We had mimosas, coffee whatever all morning while having our hair done. They don't do food but we were able to bring our own snacks in, and that was perfect. There were 6 of us and three girls doing our hair. Every hair style was awesome (i seriously loved my up do) and the bride's stayed up and curly all night (she did a half up half down) all night.

We also had our makeup done there. It was good, but I didn't love it (I generally don't wear a ton of makeup, so just that in itself was more of why I didn't like it). The bride got upset later as the mascara and some of the eye makeup started to run and give her (she hadn't been crying either) dark circles under her eyes. A little coverup and she was good to go, but it annoyed her that she paid $45 to have her makeup done to prevent that and it still happened. It was long after either--she had her makeup done last ~2:00 and she noticed it at ~4:00. Wedding was at 5. So maybe bringing your own mascara would solve that? I dunno. I also don't think she used an eye makeup primer.

Overall I would give them an A.

Yep, that was me. Thanks for the info! I have booked my trial and day-of stuff, and they've been very nice over the phone so far. I can't believe they didn't use primer though! That's good to know. I will bring my own.

definitely use primer, and a mist + fix type spray for events like that, or anything else where you don't want your makeup melting off.
