that's true of just about anywhere. It's also one thing that frustrates me with so many stores. I wish more stores would just sell their clothes at competitive and realistic prices (based on quality) all the time and not bother with the whole game of jumping through multiple sales hoops just to get to the realistic price they should be selling at anyway. People are just too addicted to sales. I guess this is what JC Penny was trying to do though which bombed?

Express' extra slim dress shirts fit me better than any other dress shirt off-the-rack. I don't need any tailoring on them to be happy with the fit. As a result, I have lots of them in my wardrobe. Too bad they have pretty boring choices and the quality is only decent :/

Plenty of people buy full price without batting an eye, so I can't blame stores for the sales games.

if it's one of those stores where they always, always have a coupon out, they're just being assholes.

^^I know :/ I just don't like paying a lot more than I know something is worth, regardless of whether I can afford it, so I always wait for stuff to go on sale when it is at a store that I know just rotates their sales options.

^ hah, like any of the craft stores with their framing coupons. They all have coupons for 40-60% off custom framing orders every single week. What's the point?

The maternity stores always have some sort of deal, bongo half off or buy three get one free or a certain percent off. Just half to buy at the right time.

I'm in the same boat. Hate the games express plays with their prices, but their dress shirts are about the only ones that fit me. I wish H&M ones fit me better, because that's the next closest I've found. Short sleeve they are good, long sleeve I have to buy up a size or two in order to have the right shoulder width.

my family owns a successful custom framing and art company (with 5 galleries). Michaels and Hobby Lobby marks up their prices 100% just to offer the 40-60% coupons, and the customers think they're getting a great deal. They often spend more than they would coming to us, and their quality and service is FAR inferior to ours. But they have the marketing and the reach that we can't always compete with.

I agree completely. We are getting some items custom-framed soon and we will be going to a local place near us. It's a prime example of just being annoying with a huge markup and then a 50% off coupon every week.

Ok, I need help some help. I just ran out of my favorite free sample of lip gloss and I don't want to pay $20 for a new one (although it's tempting).

I am going to be in a wedding this weekend and I need a long-lasting lip color. I'm hoping to be able to pic it up at Walgreens or Target, etc.

Any brands that are better than others? I feel like finding a for-real-long-lasting lipstick is like figuring out perpetual motion...

It's impossible, especially finding the color you want. I don't know how close a Sephora is to you, but you could just go try a bunch of these:

http://www.sephora.com/color-lip-last-P313004?skuId=1388933

Walgreens/Target will have stuff like a dollar or two cheaper, but you might have to buy and return multiple times.

My go to is Marvelous Moxie lipgloss in Spark Plug by bare escentuals, I get it at ulta.

I recently got a sample of Buxom Full On Lip Polish in Dolly in my ipsy bag and I love it! I might switch from the bare escentuals. You can get it at sephora. Sorry I don't have any suggestions from Walmart or Target.

I think the revlon just bitten lipstain is really good for the price. for the longest-lasting color don't use the gloss on top. does tend to come off when you eat and drink, though. but it's perfect to get really dark rich colors- they tend to look a bit more clownish in the next product i'll list.

I also sometimes like to use the Maybelline Superstay 24 lip color stuff. it's this polymer crap you paint on your lips like lipgloss, but it dries. then you put a protective waxy lip balm over top (must use the one supplied- don't combine this with other lip products). you have to keep touching up the top layer with the chapstick part pretty frequently, but the color really does last for hours, even through eating and drinking as long as you are generous with the chapstick right before. l'oreal makes a version as well, but the color palate has become really limited.

Oberlin Nail Spa is what Google is coming up with.

Or Oberlin Nail and Spa. Conflicting information.

beautiful designs, but i'm surprised at the price tag. i have my sights set on real silver and stones for the price of many of those necklaces. don't be like this tupperware lady i know who spent $1k on 'samples' but only made $800, lol

oh nah I wouldn't do that...I like this because there's a group of us in the area and they're glad to lend me jewelry until I get enough free credits to have my own stash. They don't want you to spend all your monies on samples which is nice!!!

The price tags are a little high, but it's comparable to a lot of the other costume jewelry I've had my eyes on (jcrew for one).

however, from further reviews...i may not be able to wear the fringe ones at all....it seems they run REALLY small in the shaft...and that is not something I can work with in any way

Ok, I need a closet org miracle. There's some renovation stuff blocking a large part of the closet, so I'm really limited in what I can do for now, but I'm hoping that's gonna end like, really, really soon.

I was bitching about having a 'slob life' and this blog/ebook looks hilarious and kind of appeals to me. and also looks like a great way to procrastinate and not get anything done towards actually making it better. but anyway.

^my fiance fixed up my closet. He is the shit. He installed some shelving and extra rack space and some shoe racks and then decided that when he put my clothes back he would put them in order of function (i.e. tank top, shirt, button up, sweater, etc)

I came home to this surprise one day after work. It was so wonderful that I completely ignored the fact that he had messed up my horrible "organization" and I knew where nothing was.

I told him that he should go into business organizing women's closets

I'm ruthlessly organized. The key steps are throwing your stuff away and then not buying any more stuff. If you need something, you can borrow it from some sucker who hasn't thrown all their stuff away.

The communities I design in my head have stuff repositories where everybody shares their stuff. Anything you don't need on a daily or weekly basis goes in there, and we all save a whole lot of time, money, space, and hassle.

^^I think it's totally fine to keep clothing racks throughout the house if necessary.

those are some nice people in your communities, giving the stuff back in a timely fashion and not broken and stuff. I pretty much don't have anyone to borrow stuff from, at this point. but yes, i think a goodly portion of it should go to the thrift store. and it's a good thing i don't shop there, or i would probably end up buying my own clothes back.
