Does recycled bride online do bridesmaid dresses? There used to be a place off Maynard in Cary that was nothing but prom and wedding dresses.

I have tried to consign bridesmaid dresses in that past. Most I went to 1) want more than 1 dress--they want at least 2, but prefer 3+ of the same style; some will take same color for that trend, but many are still old school thought wanting the same style, 2) don't accept David's Bridal, they want labels and 3) want them NEVER worn... bridesmaid dropped out or wedding was cancelled.

Good luck. And let me know what you find bc I still have an unworn and two bridesmaids from my wedding that want to sell theirs with the unworn one. I even had my mom take them to a consignment shop in Atlanta. We've had no luck. :-/

It is pretty scandalous, but honestly I find it kind of glamorous as well. I can imagine she had to sit and stand carefully or apply a lot of fashion tape.

if you don't wanna wear that dress again, do you think someone else does? think hard about that or post a pic for us before you spend a lot of time trying to sell it, or listing fees.

I wish I had those! I need to figure out shoes for the Marine Corps Ball this Friday. Because we've been busy with the wedding and move I totally dropped the ball on even thinking about it until this week, so now I have to make due with stuff I have. Good thing I have a spare ball gown lying around.

Speaking of bridesmaids dresses... my brother is getting married at the end of May, and his fiance wants my sister and I to be in the wedding party. Other than the color of the wedding being light blue ( not a good color on me in the slightest), I know basically nothing about what the attire will entail.

But, for future reference, what is the etiquette on the dresses after the event? I mean, do I really have to purchase a dress I will use exactly once in my life but I'm not allowed to sell it? Or if it ends up pretty or flattering, am I allowed to wear it to other formal events? Or does it just sit in a closet forever?

Allowed by whom? Fashion police? As long as the dress is cute enough and it doesn't scream "yo I lost the rest of my wedding party" then wear it. I have 2 BM dresses I have worn after the fact. One is pretty casual, so I throw a cardigan over it and call it a day. That one's light blue, actually. The other is a more formal navy dress, but it's pretty, so I've worn it to work events once or twice.

I encouraged my bridesmaids to do the "pick a knee-length dress that is gray and somewhat formal" thing, but they wanted to match, so they ended up going to David's Bridal.

I've been in four weddings--two I wore again (black) and two I didn't or haven't yet. I tried to dye an orange/peach one black but it turned brown. The other is navy but that wedding was recent and I haven't had a need to dress up since. I may wear it to my cousin's wedding in December though.

I'm about to donate the BM dress my sister made me wear (full length, Grecian in design, chiffon)

unless I'd use it for a Halloween costume in the future, I doubt I'd ever wear it again

and it's a full size too big now

I needed some new boots for the winter. I waited patiently and got these from last year:

I plan to wear them in unseasonably warm weather and walk around feeling like Santa.

see...patience is not a virtue i possess...

i'm more inclined toward "buy ALL these fake fringy boots that you'll only wear a time or two RIGHT NOW because I want them RIGHT NOW"

the thing is...i can buy all 4 pair for what one pair of Minnetonka's would cost and get just as much wear out of them

at least the minnetonkas are 'sensible shoes'. I doubt you need 4 pairs of fringed stiletto boots. you can't even wear those into the woods for a moment to truly appropriate native culture

i have nice shoes for wearing on a regular basis...

but i like color and variety and just to have fun with shoes/purses/jewelry...

so I can't justify spending bank on one pair of shoes to wear a handful of times...but i can totally justify spending bank on multiple pairs of shoes to wear a handful of times

No fringed boots. They make me sad because they are unsuitable for everything that requires boots.

I actually liked the pants-boots, and don't recall seeing them 5 years ago (as boots didn't really come BACK-back until 2 years ago, and more furiously last year). either way, I'd like to know more info, just in case.

On a drunken whim I ordered some clip-in human hair extensions. I have never in my life even considered them but I realized recently that it might be fun for nights out or special events, especially since my hair has been mind-numbingly-frustratingly the exact same length for about 6 years (about to my bra strap). It just WONT. GROW.

anyway, anyone have experience with clip in extensions? I always assumed extensions were horribly painful & expensive and/or looked like a wig, but I found out recently that way more girls wear them then I would ever know unless I asked.

I finally found some button back sweaters that are still available!

If it works, I'ma pull a LP and get one in every color.

I couldn't sleep so I went to the Belk charity sale. It was awesome! I got three things that I've been coveting for months, and I thought they'd never go on sale. I wish I was a dude so I could make a joke about my boner.

It ends at 10 AM, and it's worth putting on pants for if there's stuff you've been eyeing!
