Alright my Super Bowl play is here. I like the Bears moneyline.

1) I think the Bears will be able to run very well against the Colts.

2) I think the Bears will force turnovers against the Colts.

3) I think the Colts will move the ball in between the 20's alright but will be inefficient around the red zone and will settle for FG's.

4) Vinitieri has a short leg on kickoffs which really plays into the Devin Hester threat. I expect Indy to squib kick a lot which will give the Bears great field position following each of Indy's 4-5 field goals.

5) The Bears have a lot less pressure on them and should play pretty carefree.

6) Injury factor. Utecht hurt his knee, Sanders got banged up, and Peyton's thumb may be worse than they are letting on. He threw quite a few ducks in the final two series against New England. Ducks are not going to cut it against the Bears Defense.



Take the Bears moneyline +220.


I would avoid the Bears +6.5. I think if its close Chicago will win this game. There is a decent chance that Grossman spontaneously combusts under the pressure and the Bears lose 38-6.

If you're hell bent on taking Indy I would recommend taking them -6.5 or even -7 rather than laying -250 on the moneyline.


I have no feeling on the over/under..... I'm thinking this is a 27-23 Bears victory and could see the 48.5 o/u going either way.

^^ What I am saying is that i think the Bears have better than a 30% chance of winning this game.

If you take the moneyline you only need them to win more than ~30% of the time for this bet to be profitable.


Obviously, you are more likely to win by taking Bears +6.5 or Indy -6.5. However, you'd need to win more than 52.38% of the time in order for these to be good value plays.

Personally, I'd probably take the Bears +6.5 if I had to play the spread. However, I believe the most value lies in the Bears moneyline.

My reasoning is that if Grossman plays adequately (which he's done ~75% of the time this season) that the Bears have a very good chance to win the game outright. However, if Grossman lays an egg (which he's done ~25% of the time this season) then 6.5 points isn't going to save your ass.

I would not touch the Indy moneyline under any circumstance. -250 is way too expensive. Indy is weak against the run and their passing game will be anything but automatic against the Bears defense. Also Indy is relatively unfamiliar with the Chicago Bears.

I think the game most likely plays out as an Indy rout or a Bears victory. If you're a Grossman hater or just hellbent on betting the Colts Id lay the -6.5. (***I don't recommend this, i just feel its the lesser evil***)

Regarding the over/under 48.5 is a lot of points. However, these two teams are #2 and #3 in scoring this season. The Bears score a lot of points because of their opportunistic defense. The Colts score a lot of points because of their high powered passing game. The Colts allow a lot of points because of their porous run defense.

My lean would be to the over, but I don't feel strongly about it or feel like its a must play by any means.

After having sometime to let my emotions settle i realized the Bears and Colts were clearly the best two teams, had homefield advantage, and matched up well against their opponents.
