bitch, quit bringing up Ben Wallace.
He is an nothing like any other Big Man in this league and is the only active player I can think of who has no offensive game what so ever, but owns the glass and has awesome defense.
Wallace = Rodman
and that is all. 4/17/2006 10:49:01 AM |

And Ced is a better post player than Swift....goodness.
YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE 7-FOOT TO PLAY IN THE POST IN THE NBA...ESPECIALLY WHEN YOUR LENGTH AND ATHLETIC ABILITY PUTS YOU AT 7-FEET.
Ced could get drafted mid-first round. I'd say he has better than "a shot" at being an NBA player. If he improves the things that you mention...then he has "a shot" at being a really good NBA player. 4/17/2006 10:50:10 AM |

Bitch...Ced has more offensive game than Ben. Nobody in the NBA is identical. But I'm just proving the point that you don't have to be a certain height to play a certain position.
Nobody in the NBA is perfect all around at their position (except for maybe Kobe). Ced can defend any center in the NBA with an added 20 pounds (with the exception of Shaq). And he's serviceable offensively right now. 4/17/2006 10:52:25 AM |
jbrick83 All American 23447 Posts user info edit post |
Amare has about 15-20 pounds on Ced.
Ced could gain that pretty easy over a year or two. Amare is much better with the ball...but he's also an all-star. 4/17/2006 10:53:49 AM |

So why not stay in school, gain the weight, get your degree, improve your offensive abilities and get national recognition, and become a lottery pick??????????????????????????
And if everyone is so fucking concerned about him getting money for his family....what does he have to lose by getting his degree????????????
NOTHING. Its a win win situation, because he's going to be drafted higher no matter what if he stays....remember...we have a new coach coming hopefully....plus, if he fucks up and turns out to not be as good as we thought, then the NBA wont do shit for him and he's right back to square one, no degree, and it will cost out the ass to come back to school to graduate. It pisses me off to see people go when they're not guaranteed lottery picks just because of money.

Malik Rose=6'7'', Carlos Boozer=6'9'', Lonny Baxter=6'8'', Jason Maxiell=6'7''. Eric Hicks is only 6'6'' and is getting looked at as a potential NBA power foward. Ced is plenty tall enough, quit hating. NBA Draft.net knows a lot more about potential NBA players than you or me and has Ced going as a lottery pick. He may never be an all star, but he is going to make it. 4/17/2006 11:01:09 AM |

^ all of thos are PF's
He is big enough to be a PF in the NBA, he just needs a decent jump shot (not just a fucking free throw).
And ALL of those people you named have just that. 4/17/2006 11:08:57 AM |
tennwa33 All American 920 Posts user info edit post |
There are guards in the NBA that don't have jump shots. Ced has improved his shooting, and will continue to improve, and yes, I listed power forwards becuase that is the position he is most likely to play. 4/17/2006 11:22:22 AM |

Lon Kruger
-went to the Final Four at Florida -won the Big 10 (twice, i think) at Illinois -coached the Hawks for 3 seasons in the NBA, so he can use that as a selling point w/ recruits
either him or PJ
-2 Big East titles -One appearence in NC game (went to OT) -has been in the NBA since 1994, so he can use that as a selling point for recruits
if we dont get either of them, i'll be dissapointed 4/17/2006 11:34:42 AM |

Last comment on the Ced situation.
First...he's not going to get his degree anyways. We'll be lucky if he stays for next year...NO WAY, he stays another year to get his degree. So arguing about him not going to the NBA to get his degree is dumb. And how would getting his degree improve his family's financial situation?? He's never going to have a desk job anyways. He'll make more money in the long run if he's a lottery pick...but the amount is not the problem, its that they need any kind of money...NOW. And he'll eventually make the big bucks in three years when his first contract is up...so I don't think that's big deal.
And he can gain weight and improve his offensive abilities a lot more going up against NBA players every day in practice, having NBA coaches coach him, and training with the best trainers in the world than he can with one more year in college. And he doesn't need national recognition (unless he has a big ego...which from my view, he doesn't), he has NBA recognition and that's all he needs right now.
Either way...I hope he stays. He's not ready...but most kids aren't. He'll be perfectly fine if he leaves early. Josh Powell is getting PT right now and he didn't get drafted at all. Ced is looking to go mid-first round. Big difference.4/17/2006 1:08:26 PM |

please see Julius Hodge's situation a few weeks ago.
He takes 3 bullets to the legs, if any of them go a few inches on way or the other, his NBA and basketball career are over. Good thing he would at least still have that degree to fall back on.
always err on the side of caution. Its always in your best interest to get the degree versus not.4/17/2006 1:38:19 PM |

i don't have an account there so i can't post the article.
if you search "lon kruger" in the search bar, you can find the following quote from the entry:
