Good game dg. Always play with full batteries! FSU was ready to score late in the 2nd quarter to bring the score to 21-7 and all of a sudden my batteries die and I get called for delay of game on the 1 yard line at 3rd and goal. Of course I play it safe and end up with a FG to bring the lead to 10. Clemson scores on the next play before the half to bring it to 17-14. Damn batteries!

Game recap...

Bobby Bowden was proud of his team today as they took down the #9 ranked Clemson Tigers and his son, 31-14. The FSU defense was able to hold the vaunted Clemson offense and running attack to only 164 total yards and only 2 TDs. The defensive line and linebackers played like they were possesed and dashed CJ Spiller's Heisman dreams in 2008 by holding him to 1 yard rushing on 6 attempts. Davis didn't fare much better going only 18 yards on 5 carries. Clemson's scoring was done through the air though as Cullen Harper completed 2 passes for TDs, but his achillies hill like in past seasons has been his lack of consistency, he threw three interceptions to the FSU secondary.

The player of the game for FSU was HB Antone Smith. He rushed 28 times for 168 yards and 2 TDs. His second scamper into the endzone made the highlight reel below. Asked after the game how he felt after today's game, "I feel great, this is the best I've played all season. I'm not sure where Daquan Bowers was, I wasn't in the backfield very long." The last comment apparantly being a reference to the comment Clemson's Bowers said earlier this week,

Duke beats State 31-21 in the first game between the two schools since 2003

State took the early lead when Duke QB Thaddeus Lewis threw an early pick that led to a quick score for State

But Lewis rebounded and threw 4 touchdowns, 3 to Player of the Game Re'quan Boyette, who had 149 receiving yards on 11 catches

The majority of his catches came on passes to the flat, which head coach David Cutcliffe felt somewhat guilty for exploiting, but decided that if the defense wasn't going to adapt, he might as well keep going to his playmaker

Boyette also rushed for 50 yards

State was led by reciever Daniel Evans who had several catches including a long TD

Cousin Daniel threw for 200+ yards but 2 costly INTs

The game was marked by dropped INTs on both sides...there were at least 3-4 potential picks that flubbed through the hands of the Downs-like defenders

Duke sits at 6-3 and has shot at their first bowl bid since 1931

yeah those sliding catches seemed to be reversed 50 percent of the time

that 4th down completion you had to Jarvis Williams was the same animation, I was hoping that would be reviewed

The Cavaliers travel to Winston-Salem and spoils the deacs hopes for their first conference win with a final score of 23-13. The cavs pounded the ball on the ground early and stuck to the gameplan, holding the ball for 13min and change. Simpson finished with 23 carries for 110yds and a 57yd td run on the opening play from scrimmage(http://www.easportsworld.com/en_US/video/126276).
UVA QB Peter Lalich finished 7/9 for 87yds. For the Deacs, Riley Skinner went 16/22 for 171yds, 1TD, and 3 huge interceptions. And in what may be considered the most bizzare play of the year, the Cavs return double fumble for a td to end the first half.

The cavs now move to 7-3 overall, 4-2 in conference and dreams of what could've been had they not choked late against 2 top 5 opponents and lost focus against the heels. In the post-game press conference Al Groh said "I'm proud of our kids' intensity and glad that we finally started moving the ball on the ground. Next week is a bye but we have a big game the following week when CJ Spiller and the Clemson Tigers come to town. We know they'll be mad after a total collapse against the Seminoles, so we hope Spiller doesn't take out too much of his frustration on us."

BC gives up a 40 yard touchdown pass then comes down to tie it 7-7 as they try not to embarrass the ACC any further

just took out their impact running back James Aldridge for the game with a bruised shoulder on the last play of the 1st quarter...no excuses for the Eagles now
