I did, i'm more interested in the story before any of the stupid fuckups showed up. I'm sure we'll get most of the answers by the finale but its nice that i wasn't being fed some bullshit about the school ben teaches at in bullshit world for 45 minutes.

I'm not really sure what you people want from this show now. It stops being interesting when you find out what things are, for example: the whispers aren't cool anymore. 90% of the interest i still have in this show is discussing with other people what i think things are. If they out and say "the light is the souls of all people" or "the light is the good in the world" or some shit then it stops being interesting.

As i've said before and will say again, the kind of answers that we're getting now are the only answers we're going to get as far as what damon & carlton have stated on the podcast thus far. When this show goes off they're going into radio silence and not saying anything else. The whole point of this 6 year journey is for us to speculate and relate this show to our views/beliefs. This aint 24, not all loose ends will be tied, most things won't be answered, but the story will be finished. Its up to us to believe what we want.

It was hinted at when she said the line MiB said to jacob at the beach, and then confirmed again when she said thank you at death. I'd be curious to know where the knife came from though, as i'm sure thats the same knife that was given to Ben. I wouldn't make a big deal out of it except that it was wrapped, which makes a big deal out of it.

^yeah, and i think thats kind of cool. It makes them more 'human'.

This was my exact thought when the mother died. Now we're never going to find out anything because everyone that's still alive knows exactly the same amount of jack shit that we do.

Also, as a viewer, I was really pissed off and insulted when they put the scene with Jack and Kate in at the end. Of all the stupid times to hold the viewers hand and explain shit to us like we're fucking retards, they had to pick this one? As soon as Jacob's saw his brother's body anyone mildly smarter than mambagrl (so like 98% of the general population) would have been able to figure out who "Adam and Eve" were.

Yeah, I'll go ahead and pile on. I'm not going to say it was a "bad" episode, but it wasn't the episode I wanted and it was very disappointing. "Stranger in a Strange Land" was just plain bad, but I least you could more or less forget it ever happened. This episode is actually quite critical to the mythology of the show, and it did not deliver

I dunno, it almost feels like they felt they were forced to give crappy explanations for things they never planned on explaining. Lost has always been a show about the "why" not the "what", and while the "why" parts of last nights episode were fine, the "what" was absolutely terrible.

I'm still curious as to how/why ben was able to summon the smoke monster that one time against Widmore's people who pretty much planned to kill the people on the island, which is actually smokey's goal too. At that time we didn't know smokey had actually been a man. I know they were Widmore's people, but he could have just let them kill all the castaways, thus killing all the candidates and then he could leave the island.

So how long do you guys think Jacob/MiB have been there? If I had to make an educated guess, I'd say from sometime around ancient Rome. If you look at the clothes their biological mother was wearing, it looked like a Roman Stola (a type of dress) and sandals. Her name was Claudia, which is the feminine form of the Roman name Claudius. Also they were speaking Latin. The dudes they saw in the jungle that killed the boar didn't really look too Roman though... they had like animal bones and stuff hanging off their clothes... if anything they looked kind of like barbarians. Maybe these are the guys that build the statue?

Either way, we know that Jacob has been there for at least a few hundred years... as someone already pointed out, back in Season 1 Jack said that Adam and Eve were only about 50 years old.


Also any ideas on the glowing light? Maybe it is the fountain of youth and that is how Jacob has been able to stay alive so long and grant Richard immortality? Jacob's fake mother said that a lot of people would be looking for it for a long time and there are plenty of times in history that people took expeditions to try and find the fountain of youth.

I'm looking at the light as if it's some sort of Pandora's Box or Apple of Knowledge. Jacob threw his brother into the light, breaching whatever barrier was keeping it in. Now the island is the last barrier before it escapes to the world.
