eh, the schedule numbers might be similar but BYU still plays a bunch more bad teams than Duke does

how the hell did this team beat UNC by 20?

V yeah, maybe if the season had ended in January

Kemba Walker for NPOY
[Edited on February 20, 2011 at 9:55 PM. Reason : ^he hasn't been as sensational the last few games, but he still has time to ball out]

[Edited on February 20, 2011 at 9:55 PM. Reason : and he's doing it against quality conference competition too]

has San Diego State played anyone to date that would be considered any good?

edit: just answered my own question. They beat an EXTREMELY overrated Gonzaga team in the early part of the season by 3 and they lost to the only other ranked team they've played, BYU.

So someone tell me why they are #4 in the nation?

Both the RPI and Pomeroy have their schedule ahead of Duke's.. so yes, they do deserve to be there.

^ that is so simplistic. They also have beaten #26 UNLV twice and have 12 Top 100 wins. Duke has 14. Not a huge difference...

And they play BYU at home this week or next. In a normal season where you have a lot of really good Power Conference teams, they're probably a 2 or 3 seed in the tournament. But this year with all the top teams losing, they have a very good chance to be a 1.

People criticize our cheerleaders for gay ass chants, but the OSU cheerleaders had a pretty gay one just now. It went

male cheerleaders: "WE WANT TWO!"
female cheerleaders: "OR THREE!"

Now speaking of OSU they have the perfect roster for winning a national championship. With the exception of Sullinger, the rest of their starting lineup are either juniors or seniors. I hope they choke in the NCAA Tournament though.

Where's the thread?

Quote :
"Two frustrated teams meet in Georgia Tech, NC State

Josh Goodson

On Saturday afternoon, Georgia Tech will visit NC State in a contest between the 10th and 11th place teams in the ACC. This may also be a battle of the most frustrated teams in the ACC.

When asked about the frustration levels of the teams and fan bases, Wes Durham, Georgia Tech play by play voice, told The Insiders on 620 AM The Buzz, "I see where the frustration level has set in certainly with some NC State fans, and I think there there's some kindred spirit from Tech fans."

Durham said this can be attributed to both teams having less-than-stellar seasons, and is coupled with the fact that both teams have extremely rich basketball traditions with high expectations year in and year out.

The Yellow Jackets enter the game riding a seven-game ACC losing streak.

When Durham was asked what has been ailing the Yellow Jackets over this stretch, he simply said, "They can't shoot the ball."

Durham was not off course with his statement either. Georgia Tech has not shot above 43 percent from the field in their last eight games.

Being without starting guard Brian Oliver (10.9 ppg) since Feb. 5 has left the Yellow Jackets with only two consistent scorers, Iman Shumpert and Glen Rice Jr. Oliver has a fracture on his non-shooting hand.

The Yellow Jackets will try and bounce back, but Durham knows it will be tough against an improved NC State squad that they have yet to play this season.

Despite Wednesday's loss to UNC, Durham sees a Wolfpack on the rise. "I still see a team there that has made a lot of improvement in the last three weeks," he said.

Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m. and can be seen live on WRAL-TV. Pregame coverage begins on MIX 101.5 FM at 1:30 p.m."

I've seen an improvement in effort level, but no much in tangible results. Stilll the effort being put forth is nice to see and I applaud Lowe for not losing the team when he very easily could have.

I'll be at the game tomorrow. Wonder how empty it'll be?

GT will probably shoot 60% tomorrow. Also when did Brian Oliver get his eligibility back. Dennis Scott and Kenny Anderson must be waiting for the NCAA to clear them as well.

When fucking Vitale says Duke should have been called for a foul, that's when you know the refs are terrible.

this game is literally virginia tech's season

if they blow this, greenberg is going to be crying on ESPN during Selection Sunday once again

and if they win...he probably still manages to lose out and get them the #1 seed in the NIT

^^

UL gets a breakaway dunk with .5 seconds left in the game to go up 5. Cheerleader thinks game is over so he grabs the ball and chucks it up in the air. The refs decide to T him up and give Pitt 2 fts to get it within 3. They end up missing a mid court heave for the tie. Camera guys kept zooming in on the cheerleader, he was scared shitless.

I am so sick of the unc fans spouting off now that they are winning. I really hope duke puts them in their place this weekend. Duke fans are fairly civil winners unlike tarholes who will gloat all year if they win the acc reg season title.
