On November 24th, 2012, NC State experienced their last ACC victory over Boston College.


That same team just showed up to our living room and cockslapped us in front of our parents on the nice furniture.


We NEEDED to win this game. If we lose next week in Louisville, we're staring at 0-4 in conference play, and a team full of young kids aren't going to have the mental discipline to recover from that. Add in the fact that almost none of them have experienced a conference victory, and the potential for a season collapse becomes very real.

I'm not sure what the issue is but we have been steadily progressing and then thunderstruck we play Clemson and we fucking suck again. The major problem besides defense (even a blind man sees that) if the offensive line. It started during the Florida State game and is manifesting more each subsequent game. Brisset is good but when the pocket collapses on a QB 75% of the time here are his options:

1. Get sacked

2. Scramble and create a play on the fly

3. Try and make something out of nothing and cause a turn over

Those options don't look very good does it which is why this offense that was once firing on all cylinders sucks now. Fourteen points in 2 ACC games is not good. My solution is have Brisset line up in shot 90% of the game and do quick short passes since Brisset has a good arm and the offensive line can't block ACC caliber defense. Once we get to the redzone do wild cat or some other shit, but when Brisset has time he is very good. Yes, he can extend plays but he can't do that all day like Wilson can, he's 6'4.

I blame the coaching staff for not making the adjustments with the offensive line. During the spring game the second string defense was getting to Brisset at will so that was a prelude to the season I suppose. I can't remember when State actually had a good offensive line. I've sadly watched Wilson, Glennon, and now Brisset continually get sexually assaulted by the other team's defense. The funny thing is I don't remember Pete Thomas having that issue as he was constantly rushing what appeared to be every other play.

OL is definitely the biggest problem on offense. I agree that can partially be covered up by short, quick passing routes.

And as bad as the OL has been in pass protection, we've still been able to run the ball with some success. It's really disappointing and discouraging to see Shad only get 4 carries all of yesterday. He's clearly our best running back and needs to get more touches. Dayes has looked good too, especially as a pass catching back. Creecy, I guess, is somewhat better in pass protection than the other two. But we still need to get Shad as many carries as possible.

We have been able to run the ball on Florida State who we always have this weird success against in Carter Finley, but outside of that it doesn't look too good against ACC defenses. Both Dayes and Thorton have good catching abilities so I say get them out them more touches in the outfield and then once we're in the redzone or short yard situations then run the ball. I haven't seen anything in the past two games that makes me think the offensive line can actually do something to open running lanes for our backs, they are all on their own which is pretty shitty when the other team is continually blitzing. I say use the South Florida game as a blueprint to how to run our offense the rest of the season because our offense played well for the whole game against a pretty good defense. We have a lot of good players on offense even with Hines out, I find the last two games to be a result of poor coaching as I saw minor adjustments being made during two ass kickings.

We lost to some of the best teams in the nation because of poor coaching.

We should fire our coach because its already his second season and he is losing to some of the best teams in the nation.

Regardless of what happens, there is no hope for the future unless we reach some arbitrary random number of wins THIS year.

The part you guys are forgetting is that every ACC team we play against has a coach who is held to standards as well. Those standards are often higher and they have had more time to build their teams. Why do yoo somehow think the fact that this guy coaches at state means he should work miracles and jump ahead of these coaches who are at far superior schools with far superior coaching conditions 66% of the time? There is no reason you should have EXPECTED a win in the last 3 games or the next game aside from fan excitement. We were stupid and got too excited because THE TEAM LOOKED GREAT in the first four games. We converted the team's improvement into wins and overestimated them. Don't penalize the coach for your own miscalculation. It takes years to build a solid program.
