It was in response to this guy.
It doesn't matter, this is all just a matter of hurting draft position at this point and making a few extra bucks for the owner.
Matt Ryan is probably going to be telling Cam and friends to get the fuck off his field next week.

^^^ damn did Cam piss in your cornflakes? I don't know what more you people want. if anyone had told me at the beginning of the year we'd be in first place with a week to play with a "win and you're in" scenario, I'd take it 100/100 times. who gives a flying fuck what the record is? 12/21/2014 10:09:12 PM |

Possibly hosting Arizona (need to win first, probably wont) but that's a winnable game with their qb situation.. 12/21/2014 10:11:45 PM |

So the winner of the CAR/ATL game is most likely going to host Arizona in the first round? Or how much depends on the winner of the GB/DET game?
I think on paper I'd much rather play the Cardinals or Lions than the Packers or Seahawks. But gotta nut up and beat the big boys at some point on our way to the SB. 12/21/2014 11:23:56 PM |

This things pretty cool. Pick your winners up top and it'll tell you who plays where. My best guess is Detroit going to Dallas and zona coming to nfc south winner 12/21/2014 11:50:05 PM |

^^Sound betting advice. But I'm sure you would've also said the Eagles would destroy the Redskins last night, or that the Saints would snap their 4-game home losing streak today, or that potential playoff team Buffalo would've beaten the lowly Raiders. Anything can happen 12/21/2014 11:55:45 PM |

Before I get laughed out of here- I'm not drinking the Kool Aid... and I think we should have pulled the plug about a month ago. But this is the NFL and it's a whole new ballgame once you get to the playoffs. Obviously this would be greeted with open arms amongst Carolina fans, but would this be a black eye on the NFL?
What if a shitty 7-8-1 (or 6-8-2) team made a deep run into the playoffs? Would fans start to question the parity of the NFL? I don't think Carolina can hold a candle to the other teams, but I've seen crazier things. Again- I'm not saying it can happen, but if it did; what would the consensus be? 12/22/2014 1:52:08 AM |

The people arguing that a sub-.500 team shouldn't make the playoffs and that the system should be overhauled will be shut up if that team makes a deep run. 12/22/2014 2:43:58 AM |

Seattle won the west at 7-9 in 2010 and hosted new Orleans (11-5) and beat them. Lost in the next round. We would have a better record than them if we go, atl would be the same 12/22/2014 6:58:11 AM |

I don't really think it would be a black eye at all. There would definitely be people talking about how the Panthers "don't deserve" it or whatever, but that's bullshit. Are we really gonna act like a 7-9 or 7-8-1 record is that much worse than an 8-8 making a run? Nobody gets up in arms if that were to happen.
I think there could be a legitimate argument to be made about a division winner with a losing record having homefield advantage...but that's about as far as I think anybody could reasonably argue.
9-7 teams have made Super Bowl runs before...and at 7-8-1 the Panthers would only be one loss worse than those teams.

I'm almost certain the only scenario where Arizona doesn't travel to Falcons/Panthers is if St Louis wins next week at Seattle.
In that unlikely case, Seattle would travel to ATL/Car.

4 point dogs... IDK why but I think we win this shit. Riverboat Ron is 14-3 in December only losses are:
2013 @ Saints on Primetime 2012 @ KC when the Chiefs guy blew his head off in the parking lot 2011 v. ATL when we blew a 23-7 halftime lead to lose 31-23
one per year though... :/

If Seattle losses and Arizona wins, then Seahawks are #5
If Arizona loses, and Detroit ties Green Bay, then the Packers will be the #5 team.
Best case scenario - Panthers win, Seahawks win, Arizona wins, GB/Det tie, and Dallas wins. Panthers host Cardinals then travel to Dallas as opposed to Green Bay or Seattle.
The Cowboys have a tie-breaker over Seattle but would be #3 if tied with Seattle AND Detroit or Green Bay

Given that our best win recently was @NO - and the falcons pretty much matched that last week - its tough for me to buy into a Panthers win. I want it, but srsly... we struggled to beat the hapless Browns last week! Hopefully old Ron has a trick up his sleeve still. 12/28/2014 10:11:26 AM |
