Panthers weren't in existence when I was a wee child and started watching sports. Parents had no NFL preferences. So I just liked players...and subsequently the teams they played on. As a kid I liked John Elway and the Broncos and Barry Larkin and the Reds.

As State was finally able to put players in the NFL, I just cheer for those teams.



Meant to add that I'm generally a hater of all local teamss that I'm not a fan of. Growing up in NC, of course I hated UNC, Duke, Wake, and ECU.

Living in SC now, I can't stand USC, Clemson, and pretty much all SEC fans (they're everywhere). When teams have success...fans are annoying.

Panthers fans have now become annoying. I'd like to see them brought back down to their previous level.

Defense is about the same, offense is playing much better. We spotted the Saints a 14 point second quarter lead and still would have won by double digits if the defense didn't totally shit the bed in the second half. I don't think the Seahawks can come beat us at home without a running game, not without a ton of help from the Panthers. Not to mention Jimmy Graham had a big game against the first time around.

I'm certainly not trying to convert anyone's fandom, but all the teams you mentioned hating were college teams. Of course you're not gonna like UNC or Duke if you're a State fan. College rivalries and allegiances would obviously make you dislike Duke, ECU, UNC, Clemson, etc. But what about the Hornets or Hurricanes for example? I don't even like hockey but would put the Canes as my #1 team if I cared about the sport

The Giants were my team first but I root just as hard for the Panthers because they are and will always be my home team. So now I have to sit through this week's game with one of my teams needing the win to make the playoffs and the other pursuing perfection. On one hand, I'd rather the Panthers lose because they are already locked in, but on the other, maybe it's best for the Giants not to make the playoffs so I don't have to go through this again.

However, it is possible for the Giants to lose this week and still make the playoffs, so best case scenario for me is Panthers win, Eagles lose, Redskins lose.

I'm a semi Hornets fan. I love Mugsy and grandmama...but then they left and became the Bobcats. I'd love for them to get some State players and be successful again.

I loved the Hornets from a young age, but stopped caring when they left town. Never even tried getting into the Bobcats, but started getting into it again with the name change. I'm in and out with the Knicks, but most years it's not worth my time or energy to care.

I definitely still followed the Hornets after they left town. Had a rooting interest in the players and wasn't gonna stop caring about them just because the owner was a dick. Even went to a game in New Orleans. But once the roster started to be predominantly guys who never played for the Charlotte Hornets, and the fact that we had a new team, I became a Bobcats fan. Then they blew up the team because they finally made the playoffs and got swept and I said fuck paying money for this.

Broncos 13-0, Giants 5-8 (Giants win by 4)
Patriots 15-0, Giants 10-5 (Giants lose by 3, went on to win Super Bowl)
Patriots 18-0, Giants 13-6 (SB XLII, Giants win by 3)

Also worth noting that both times the Giants lost, they then beat those teams in the playoffs of the same season.
