Kanses lives off points inside the arc. I doubt Randle likes that at all

They don't shoot threes at all. That's our main weakness defensively.

Defensively they are horrid.

They are hopelessly short and have zero depth.

I like NC State to land Randle. He has all the makings of a one and done that could play longer in College

I see no mention of the Kansas coaches giving Randal's mother any red velvet cake.

I like our chances.

From the above blog article:

Quote :
"It could be a really stressful situation because this thing is hard. I know the truth is that all of these schools would be perfect. But I’m not letting it stress me out; I’ve just got to go to the best system for me. "

From his blog article after his visit here

Quote :
"I think the biggest thing I learned over the weekend was that if I came there they wouldn’t have to change anything about their system for me. It just fits me. Other coaches talk about what they’ll change for me, but with State they don’t have to do that. That’s big."

Read into it what you will, but this makes me

Honestly, if I were him I'd go to Kansas. Better program, better coach, closer to home, etc.

As much as I wanted to stab you in the face in with a soldering iron, you're essentially right. They've had a lot of success with players like Randle, too.

I think Kansas is the team to beat. Stellar class coming in, one of the best coaches in the country, success with players like him. I think the only chance we have is he would get 70-80% of the minutes at the 4 here and we run an offense that really caters to what he wants to play in.

Guess we need Leslie to stay for year four if thats the case, or we will only have two big men again.

I mean...we don't get a lot of the recruits that the "insiders" think that we're going to get...so if they think that we're NOT going to get a recruit...then mostly likely we're not.

Apparently some dude decommited from Vanderbilt...we should go after him.

seems like everyone thinks Kentucky now. Fucking crazy. They are having a bad year, and you are essentially committing to play for a brand new 5-8 man AAU team each year, not a university.

As our next options start committing over the next few days, that will be a clear sign that we are out.

If no one commits until the Randle announcement, then the coaches are still thinking we have a shot.

We weren't gonna beat out both Kentucky and Kansas for a top-5 recruit halfway across the country.

Too bad.

We're gonna play small-ball next year, with Warren and whichever freshman big proves serviceable in the post. It'll get ugly when we can't grab a rebound or stop opposing bigs to save our lives.

The good news is that we won't have to watch Leslie step on the baseline, forget to box out on game-winning tips or try to fight through 3 guys in the paint ever again. Warren can replace his scoring and lazy defense. Unfortunately, we have no one to replace Howell.

^ Are you implying that TJ Warren plays lazy defense? He's easily the most underrated defender on our team. I'm sure face has some advanced analytics that could prove that point for me (I'm too lazy to look it up)

TJ is a surprisingly good on-ball defender. The only thing I don't like is that he constantly goes under screens on 3 point shooters. Just look at when he was guarding Reggie Bullock this weekend. Gotta fight through the screen unless you have help.

if by lazy you mean he has never, ever put his hands up to contest a shot, then yes he plays lazy defense.

He also doesn't rebound defensively.

He averages 2 defensive rebounds per game. Scott Wood averages 2.7.

he leaks out for the transition buckets as probably instructed to. scott wood doesn't,,, he trails or runs away from the transition to look for open jumpers.

but hey, I'd too rather secure more rebounds than 2 per game at the cost of not "leaking out"

TJ Warren, if he stays (and I would be shocked if he doesn't, even considering nc state shit) will be a plausible 18 ppg type guy next year. Like Deshaun Thomas, he will be the type of guy to build a team around.

Heard TJ Warren was transferring to Arizona State to be with Julius Randle and Curtis Painter and a well-coached team.

And supposedly Clayton's Gary Clark picked up an offer from Wake Forest in addition to Clemson. Apparently he wants an offer from NCSU?

Me too, could be a good 4-year player. I'm guessing staff may be hesitant because in 2014, we'll already have a senior Turner who will probably play the same position, as well as the two Martin twins already coming in.

I work at KHS. Haven't taught Brandon, but I taught his brother, who was a big-time Pack fan and wanted to play here (N.C. Co-Player of the Year in '08). Brandon is a fantastic kid. Would love to see him come to State.
