As much as I love pointing out plot holes, Clark and Kara have both showed pain when learning to control their super hearing, he had never experienced something that powerful, ie not used to that frequency.

Well, it just seemed damned peculiar that Superboy would respond to a blast--sonic or otherwise--by bleeding. But since that particular power of Black Canary's apparently comes from either exposure to radiation, a wizard's curse, or a metagene--depending on which Canary's continuity is applied--magic actually could explain the damage to Superboy's ears.

I don't put nearly that much thought into this show. But after reading these posts I thought I'd say that I just take it for what it is: a new vision for the early years of Clark Kent's life. Everyone seems to be pointing out small discrepancies compared to the fact that Clark wasn't supposed to know Lex, Lois, Martian Manhunter, Green Arrow, Flash, etc. until after he became Superman. To me those differences are much bigger than making his ears bleed at a time he doesn't even have the ability to fly.

Its a new take on the superman mythos, I have no problem with that. Glaring plot holes in what the show presents to us...its fun to point out.

All of us are in here for one reason, to see the last scene where Clark gets ready to wear the costume and embrace his destiny, thats it. No one here really enjoys the show, we enjoy picking it apart and destroying it.

Did anyone else catch tonight's new episode with Pete? I found it quite interesting that Stride Gum would go so far to say their gum was meteor rock infected as a marketing ploy, heh

Of all the great things they could have done with bringing Pete back, it was a typical Smallville shitfest.

Why do I still watch this show?

Anyone else catch last night's episode? Just seems like more of the same to me:

1. Lionel betrays Clark,
2. Claims to have a valid reason,
3. Profit??

It's been done before. Just like last week's episode was a revisit to the Freak of the Week premise of the first season. With that being said, the show has been picked up for an 8th season:

Quote :
"Tom Welling's Clark Kent will be tending the farm for at least one more year, The CW revealed in a March 3 press release.

In the meantime, "Hero", Episode 13 of the current season, will air some time in March, to be followed shortly by "Traveler," featuring Gina Holden (SciFi Channel's Flash Gordon) as Patricia Swann. Episode 15, "Veritas," will air soon after that.

In early February, The CW ordered 5 more episodes of Smallville, taking Season 7 to an unexpected total of 20 episodes. The New York Times reports that these new segments will begin airing on April 17th. James Marsters will return as the BRAIN InterActive Construct in Episode 18. According to The Continuum, however, Phil Morris's Martian Manhunter may take a powder for the foreseeable future, thanks to the erratically-planned Justice League movie.

Most of Smallville's cast is solid for Season 8, but the final lineup won't be announced until The CW's upfront event in May. According to STEVE YOUNIS at Superman Homepage, Kristin Kreuk, who was contracted to play Lana Lang for seven seasons only, will be back for at least a portion of the season. However, the network will have to renegotiate with fan-favs Allison Mack (Chloe Sullivan) and Michael Rosenbaum (Lex Luthor)."

Damn I was hoping this was the last season, and that they would wrap up this shit. But I am addicted to this show trying to recapture the excitement. If Rosenbaum (sp??) is not back, it will suck even more.

^ I agree, and a friend of mine told me he won't be though it is technically still in the air. Having Lex on the show was the reason I didn't want to watch it in the beginning he wasn't supposed to know Clark in Smallville. Now it is difficult to imagine the show without him.

They stretch this show out for so long... I forgotten how most things ended up how they are now. How did Kara lose her memory/powers again? Did Jor-El take it as punishment for releasing Lara and Jor-El's brother? And why did Lex and Clark start hating each other again?

Which is why this show fails. Tom Welling may be a decent actor, but his version of Clark Kent is probably the dumbest in the history of Superman.

Clark deploys his patented confused and concerned look. Scene ends in the barn--as some flash-in-the-pan band's power ballad plays it to black.

This is a superhero soap opera.

Definitely, a soap opera...and I can't pull away..it sucks. I am a bit tired of Clark working the farm. Now if they keep the JL more involved next season that would be wassup, but I am guessing with the JL movie coming along that will be totally eliminated.

can't be kryptonite, that would be lame. who's the dude that snuffed lex's assistant? i always think it's kinda funny how whenever someone bad figures out clark's secret they usually die in the next scene

So was the Jimmy Olsen/James Bond storyline supposed to be real? I kept waiting for him to wake up from a dream to win Chole back... That was a waste of an episode. The only good thing that came out of it was at the end where you were left wondering "what would the world be like without Clark Kent?"
