finally broke down and jumped in

The Panny FZ20 was nice, but I ordered a D40 kit tonight. Now, considering I paid an extra $20 for Amazon to get this thing to me tomorrow to shoot my weekend at the beach, I better hear a doorbell tomorrow from UPS

Next up: probly that 55-200 VR lens, though that $470 70-300 is what I *really* want

Yeah I know, I was trying to adjust the shutter speed on the fly as that bee was zooming around and that was the best action shot of the bee that I got. I had better exposure on some of the others but the bee was either out of focus or moving fast enough that I got some motion blur.

i bought a minolta 7d about a year ago when they first came out, its an awsome camera, and takes really sharp pictures. too bad minolta got out of the camera buisness shortly after releasing this camera. if i had to buy another one it would def. be a nikon d2h or a d2x

i noticed my fuji also got issues with colors being washed-out, even when switched to the oversaturated "chromo" mode. i thought it was because mine was more of a point and shoot with above average manual control but now i think it might have something to do with fuji sensors or signal processors. i would defenitely expect better colors if i had to haul around something like s6000fd

the Fujifilm Finepix s6000fd is an SLR styled camera
meaning it looks like a SLR but it is not

Some basic color level correction will make thoes Fuji pictures look worlds better. The blue and green channels are skewed strongly to the dark end of the dynamic range.

i hate having to open every pic in photoshop. the damn cam should get that shit right in the first place. oh well at least the light sensitivity is above average.

haha, i open mine in the Nikon Software first and do some quick corrections but to play with the Hue and Saturation i have to then open them in photoshop...thats a lot of work

what would be the best way to go about that?

yeah, like i said. its not slr. but its a good camera. its a high range transition camera. honestly fuji tends to store a lot of color info, so you could do a lot of playing with it. they are normally pretty good with dynamic range. so you can dull down the bright colors until you get detail and pep up the duller colors to even it out.
